Box stand in a pine plantation. I’ve seen 5 this morning, no shooters. Beautiful day to be in the woods.

Opening day of rifle season, saw 7 total. Only one small buck. Didn’t hear to many shots for opening day.

I’m with you, normally buy too much. Seems like I’m always short on fertilizer though.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer late July. Turns your life upside down for sure and I believe it has been harder on my wife. Got the news Wednesday that the chemo is not working. Begin a clinical trial soon that will hopefully help. It has changed everything we do, had so many plans for the next few years. We will try to accomplish as many as we can in the time I have left.

Not hunting but spent the morning bush hogging food plots. Primitive firearms opens here next weekend. Youth season has been open this week but have not seen many reports.
My grandfather served in WW1. I need to do some research to see if he was involved in any combat, not sure of his role. My father served in Korea on a tank crew. He had a plague about his service on the wall with his ribbons. When I was about 5 or 6 I asked what he did in the war, he got upset and told me not to ever ask that again. The next day that plague was gone. Never asked him again and he never talked about it.
No doubt, diagnosed with terminal cancer in July. Very well may be my last football season. I will enjoy every game, win or lose.
Louisiana has the potential to grow big bucks if everyone would let them grow. My property is surrounded by leases with a bunch of cajuns. Hate to see a young buck cross the property line knowing it will probably get killed. That’s why I would support a one buck tag system.
Oops! I thought I could run off road diesel since Hurricane Rita.
I don’t think LSU spent one minute game planning for Tech’s defense. Spent the entire week on Ole Miss.
We had an insurance company do an audit on how we could save money. Backing into parking spaces was one of the suggestions. Can’t remember the stats they used but backing in prevented a lot of minor accidents.

Hate to hear that, always enjoyed his Q&A segments he would do with Dandy Don. I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in July. Will have my third chemo treatment Wednesday at MD Anderson. Hopefully I will qualify for the New FFA approved medication daraxonrasib. Prayers for the family.

Ended up with 8, my shooting sucked this morning. I think I missed my first 10 shots. Several guys limited out. Not a bad opener overall.

Checked my millet field yesterday. Saw about 200 birds, the most I’ve seen. Guess the storm moved some in, hope they stick around till Saturday.

How’s it looking since the storm, anyone seeing less birds? Seems like they are here today, gone tomorrow at my place.
I have about 50 issues that I will give someone. I don’t need them and there’s no use in me keeping them.
I found some of my old magazines. I have some from 2014 through 2020. Let me know if you are looking for a specific issue and I’ll check to see if I have it. If you want them you can have them all.
I found mine in the attic, Louisiana Conservation magazine if that is what you are looking for, some as old as 1970.
I have a box in the attic, will try to get them down this morning. Most will be from the 80’s.
