link to any post hating on him for walking on the team?

Somewhere in here or another post they whine about him taking a roster spot, scholly etc.

People aren't even arguing valid points... Most don't have a clue as to what it takes to be able to compete on that level. They just throw out ignorant statements regularly to sound like they know what they are talking about. Why don't y'all head up to traction and have a sit down with those guys.... Ask them if they think he can compete.

The other thing is many of these QBs in high school that are getting "QB" time aren't freaking QBs, but are athletes that have decent arms. They don't run offenses or make reads. They throw the ball to a spot they are supposed to.... If they can't they run around until they can. They make plays b/c they are better athletes than anyone else. The best ones are elite and some make the transition and others don't. You can't count someone out b/c he isn't pigeon holed. It's not like Ol boy has been playing video games...

You're excited about an ex punter walking on at QB for LSU?

Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine the trick plays Les would run with a punter who could complete passes. Zack may end up completing more passes for TD's as a punter than our starting QB does behind center against teams like Alabama.

We could just run the offense with a base fake punt package.
SEC won't know what hit em.

Our problem is not a QB with a weak arm. Harris can throw the ball. The problem is decision making and accuracy. Harris is our starter this year until he loses the job.

If ZVR ends up as the starting punter in a year or so, then it is win for LSU, IF he ends up competing for the QB spot in a couple of years, then it is a home run for LSU.

Exactly, a 6'5" phenom walk on competing for a spot, LSU is gambling but it's with the casino's money not LSU's.

quarterback is a position that doesn't really require previous experience

We have had several in the last ten years who appear to have had no previous experience. Maybe this guy will be the fix. We can always hope.

If he didn't play qb in high school, there's no shot of him playing the position in college. There's more to the position than just being able to throw the ball.

I highly doubt we get anything from him at the QB spot but I sure in the hell hope he comes in here and can punt it a country mile. Kheen sucked donkey dick this past year. Talk about fall from grace. Between him and Wing I think I have seen enough of the down under boys.

I don't think "this could be big". 6'5" 205 lbs. lanky pitcher doesn't really scream football to me.. And I'm a fan of the kid, I'm born and raised Zachary.

His greatest value is in having a punter that can throw the ball. The Mad Hatter must love this. Make no mistake, a greenie can develop nicely into, say, an olineman, dlineman, or maybe a receiver of sorts. BUT, he will NOT transition to a QB at an elite level program with zero background at the position. Cannot happen. Will not happen. Beyond the rosey bullshite, that's the reality.

The odds are in your favor but what does it hurt to wait and see?

LSU is gambling that a 6'5" phenom walk on will compete for a spot as QB or punter. There is the possibility that LSU's gamble could pay off big time for LSU. Even though it is a gamble, it's gambling with the casino's money not LSU's.
