Visiting LSU this weekend.

Best RB out of Texas in a while. Keep that Northshore pipeline open.

There's only 5 RBs ever ranked higher than that (247)!

I think this kid would be a 1st or 2nd rounder straight out of high school. He's developed like a 21 year old playing in high school, kind of like Adrian Peterson.

He's going to dominate wherever he plays. I hope its with the good guys.

In case anyone is wondering the 5 in front of him (all time rank) are

Joe McKnight (T-12)
Leonard Fournette (T-15)
Adrian Peterson (T-15)
Bryce Brown (T-23)
Kevin Jones (T-23)

Evans is ranked .0001 pts behind Jones and is tied for 34th. Pretty good company. Brown is the only bust of those 3 and that seems to be more a personality thing than a talent thing.

Am I just insane or does he look incredibly stiff in his highlights? People comparing him to Adrian Peterson I just dont see it. Hes obviously awesome but an all time great HS rb is something I just dont see. All this is from watching YouTube highlights though.

I’ve watched every game Zach’s played in for the past two years. He’s a dynamic runner with good patience and burst through the line, has really good balance and elusiveness. Good but not amazing top-end speed but accelerates really quickly if given a sliver of daylight. If he’s in the open field either breaking through the line or catching the swing pass, he reads his blocks well and takes it to the house almost all the time. He’s 6’ and can seem a little stiff I suppose because he sometimes runs a little high. But when he does make contact he almost always breaks tackles or falls forward for 3-4 more yards. He’s used to just shedding tacklers but I’m sure he’ll work on pad level as he faces bigger and stronger college competition. He’s 205 right now but he’s got another 1.5 years before he graduates and he’s put on 10 solid pounds in the past year and could put on another 10 before he graduates. Of course, he’s a super lean 205. He hasn’t filled out yet. I hope to see him in the P&G but will be a supporter of him no matter where he ends up. Hopefully K’Lavon and Eric show him what the Tiger Nation is all about this weekend. He’s got every school after him right now and UT and A&M are all over him, but he’s just soaking it up and letting the process play out. He probably won’t decide until signing day next year.

Not too small. 215-220 or thereabouts would be pretty ideal. He's not far from that, plus he's still in his junior year of high school. He has more than a year and a half, including two offseasons, to keep lifting weights and adding good weight before his first college season. That's plenty of time.

The only thing I really see where Evans has a little to be desired is vison. There are times he goes to the wrong hole. He often is able to compensate due to his athletic ability. What I found most impressive is his acceleration through the hole. Once he gets his shoulders turned upfield he is gone. Not sure how well he can break tackles. But he'd be great in the Reggie Bush role at USC. The Sproles role with the Saints, that type role. He is better in open field than between the tackles where vison is key.
