LSU doesn't have spots to take a bunch of portal players this year. Ole Miss sucks at recruiting high school players, well Lane sucks at it, so they have open spots to fill.

The we don’t need numbers argument is so lazy and weak. We aren’t acquiring (procuring?) top end talent yet. That’s the rub… not quantity.

You realize that freshmen are what build strong, long term success, right? Portal players are a patch and way to fill in the blanks but you don’t build entire teams out of the portal or you end up like aTm.

You had your number 1 target from Louisiana at a DESPERATE position of need there for the taking and you got beat about by Ole Miss. enough of this bullshite that we should somehow be okay seeing House and Steeples shite their pants for every coveted recruit.

How did this nonsense get started?
LSU took 14 transfers last year, and 9 were from out of state.
Ole Miss is putting a lot of stock in the portal because their high school recruiting is horrible.
They ranked No. 23 last year and No. 10 in the SEC. They are No. 19 currently and No. 10 in the SEC.
They were heavy in the portal the last two years and will have a lot of turnover and scholarships available. LSU does not.

I have been looking at this board for years but still didn't know all the TROLLS who don't tell the truth about LSU recruiting. Several are claiming Ole Miss is recruiting like crazy...they are NOT! Remember how some whiners who live by recruiting rankings say that LSU's 9 3* are a crime against humanity? Well, Ole Miss has 15 3* verbals and funny, Ole Miss is supposedly beating the heck out of LSU in recruiting.
I do see that OKTiger has now joined the chorus. I recognize him as either the Negatiger King or at least the heir apparent!

I get that check the box we just signed some freshman but the cabinets are bare right now and his theory he would use the portal until we get numbers still applies. Two strikes last year with Chestnut and Harris now we may have some guys returning with Alexander and the Ohio st guy but we still are very thin. We can't let Ole piss take the best available guys that Kelly considers home grown. We had probably the worst defense ever and you don't better in one year by going the high school route. Long term like you said but not by next year.
