I've come to realize there's not THAT much difference in talent between alot of these 4 and 5 stars. Sure, they look fine in their high school video highlights, but once they get to campus, it's a completely different story. There are learning curves, putting on weight, etc etc. There's no ONE recruit that will factor in LSU's W/L record on a yearly basis. Especially when the depth chart is pretty deep.
any other position, then yeah, i may agree...but this is left tackle we are talking about. the bane of our existence, and a strength for bama for the last few years.

So you whine because a kid went to camp and I'm the butt hurt one? Makes sense.

The kid didn't commit to Bama, he just went to camp. Mingo's brother went too. You think there's any way he doesn't go to LSU if he's good enough? It's just a camp.

To add to that, Cam is supposed to come to LSU camp in July. I wouldn't be surprised if the same group that travelled together to Bama camp does the same for LSU.

LT is more important in the NFL, but OL play is obviously very important and Bama has been very good there. I don't think you can say bad LT play has cost us games. Last year we played most of the season, including the top 2 defensive fronts we faced in USCe and Bama with a guard at LT and did fine. Obviously you can't do that permanently but with guys we already have (Collins who maybe stays in 2014, Hawkins, Pocic, plus the possibilty of Brumflied and or Clapp growing into Tackles, I wonder if they do take another T if they strike out on Robinson? Personally I hope they do of course, but they may just wait for 2015.

Clapp grew a couple inches. He's now around 6'5. Wildman also said that Garret might grow some more. Could also end up being 6'5

Keep an eye on 2016 U-High DB, Malik Antoine. He's gonna be a good one! And he will be a "true" sophomore next season, meaning he is 15 yrs old. None of this 17 years old in the 10th grade crap! I think y'all know how I feel about that!

Malik is a man-child too. He has been physically mature for a while, and looks strong. I understand he is a hard worker too.

That squad is going to be sick for the next few years. So many D1 guys on the roster. Brossette, Moses, etc.

2016 is going to be good. I dont think it will be as good as 2014 though. What makes the 2014 class so amazing is that it has both the depth and the star power. I mean we have LF, Cam Rob, Hootie Jones, WIllis, Noil, Dupre etc. all are top 50 players in the nation. And then there is 10 more guys in the top 300. Thats how amazing this class is. It has the big time 5 * prospects, but also has plenty of other great prospects.

I only know of a few prospects in the 2016 class. Devin White and the OL from WM. But, I knew of a lot of of the 2014 players for multiple years. Im sure others will rise up and stuff, but its almost too early to compare the classes right now.

But, 2014 is a special class. Very special. We will see what happens with the 2016 class.

He'll start for West Monroe as a sophomore at QB. In the 30 years I've gone to WM games and played I don't remember anyone being a full time starter as a soph. He was Eastbay All American in junior high, won MVP at Top Gun camp, was on Saban team at Bama last week. Here's an article on him from Clean last year. LINK Eta never mind his highlights are in OP. He's become more familiar with his height and is much more fluid runner now. He kinda looks like a baby giraffe in those highlights, just learning to run on those long legs.

Just watched it on youtube and read the comments, if that is truly his big bro who posted, it looks like he'll have somebody in his whispering LSU. Also after Jennings wins 2 Natties and a heisman, he'll definitely be on his way.

Hope that qb Belton develops as a passer. He looks like Perriloux running the ball. JJ27, you have the scoop on him?

Just received his first offer from ULL according to Sonny

Hopefully so. He turns 17 on June 23rd, so he will still be 17 when he reports to LSU in 2014. We will have to see if he has an inch or two left in him. He's 6'4" now. I'm just shy of 6'6". Maybe in the year or so he will stretch out a little bit more.

HaHa! Don't worry, you're not alone. After 2 seasons of existence, you'd be surprised how many times I've heard us referred to as "Northwestern High School."

Should have kept the name Shongaloo.

Way better than North Webster.
