LSU has recruited and developed better on the OL than Clemson and it's not even close. In fact, Dabo's major failing at Clemson has been OL recruiting.

Maybe on development. But not recruiting they've had 4 5*s since 2015

LSU has had 4 5*s since 2000

You say that like it's nothing. Development and production are ALL that matters. OL has probably the highest percentage of failures. It's the hardest to project.

LSU had more offensive linemen drafted in 2020 than Dabo has had his entire tenure at Clemson.

I wouldn’t be disappointed, Campbell and Emery are as good as any two linemen recruits in the SEC. OL typically don’t play right away so you can use the transfer portal to supplement each o-line every season. All 4 would probably stay and develop. But I would think we really need some depth in the classes behind them. But I do think we end up with more than those 4.

Honestly I think we just have to take what we can get with the highschoolers and leave 3 spots open for OL transfer portal. Don’t f around and get 7 or 8guys including the 3 OL transfers would take care of our depth issues in one cycle IMO.

With the difficulty in projecting OL recruits, I would take at least one transfer on the OL every year.

OSU, Clemson, Bama, Georgia, OU get 5* Olineman every single year.

Really? Every year uh?

Not counting 22 because it's not done...
AL: 2 in 21, 0 in 20, 1 in 19, and 0 in 18.
That's not 1 every year. It's not even averaging 1 a year.
OSU: 21 back to 18, 1 every year. You got one right!
OK: 1. Back in 18.
Clem: 1 in 21 and 1 in 18. 2 in 4 yrs. NOT 1 every year.
UGA: 1 in 21-19 and 2 in 18. They got 1 (or more) each year.

So, OSU and UGA do get A 5* OL each year.
The others? Just that much more blathering from you.

All of those schools have gotten more 5*s in 3 yrs then LSU has got in 21 years (since 2000)

True. But that's not what you said.

"OSU, Clemson, Bama, Georgia, OU get 5* Olineman every single year."

They don't.

The season has to play out of course

Bingo! That's the key. We come out of the gate strong and these kids will think a little differently. 10-2 or maybe even 9-3 will be enough. The offense will be slingin' it all over the place and the D will have 3 or 4 guys that are in the top 5 in the country at their position. (The corners, and a couple of Smith, Roy, Jones, and Ojulari)
It's going to be an exciting brand of football and the kids will notice.
I still haven't figured out why but I have a good feeling about Dewberry!

I don't think I've ever seen you post anything positive on any board on TD. Do us a favor and disappear like a magician would.

Think about it this way: You can sign up to 25 guys in a class. 22 guys start. So you should be coming relatively close to filling out an entire starting lineup with each class. This is supposed to be the "replenishing" year for OL and we still can't even hit the baseline of where we should be in a *normal* year?

Think about it this way: WhoTF decided you make the recruiting formula? Crissakes, you piss on everything you post on, Dean Wormer.

Sounds good in theory, but if you take 8 Olinemen in a class then next year you’re stuck with the same problem just at a different position.

What position? We lose almost the entire OL after this season, Shananahan, Deculus, Rosenthal is already gone, Ingram and potentially Wire ifs he has a great year. No where else on the field are we going to see that much attrition or quality depth issues. 7-8 with 3 transfers that can contribute early is completely justified IMO. There are several other positions that has quality depth/youth to sacrafice a spot or 2 for 1 cycle.

Wouldn’t be ideal. But cregg lacked and Davis is late to the recruiting cycle. If we only get 4 and even if we do get another we will need to hit the transfer market. I can see 1 to 2 transfer oline coming in due to what we lose.

Baloney. When Saban got here he started recruiting at an elite level immediately, with zero positive results on the field.

I would be disappointed with that finish. We need to keep Campbell, land Jones, and add one of the following:
Kelvin Banks
Kam Dewberry
Julian Armella

You are star gazing. We want great players, not players the media says are great. The coaches seem to be over the moon about that guy Fitz. I’ll take him over most of your list.

I’ll take the OP’s list plus one more player the coaches think is a good one.

Except that you don't need the depth at OLine that you do at other positions. If you have 5 starters and 6-7 solid backups you are pretty full at that position going into a season. 4 is a good "normal" year recruiting wise, and LSU will likely get a 5th this year
