re: With these elite coaches and top recruits coming here…

You are correct. When all your competition is improving their teams with immediate, experienced 4-5* players in need positions, and you aren't...
then you are falling behind.
Recruiting is a different game these days, and LSU apparently has not made the transition like some of our competition.
Hard to believe LSU hasn't lost ground with Fla, A&M, Ole Miss, Ga, Tx....all potentially our competition going forward.
We may be OK, but we are far from elite and that is where some of those teams are headed.

Bro, do you even

Ashton Stamps
PJ Woodland

Bernard Causey

Wallace Foster
We're good at corner.
All we need is 1 good DL transfer.
A lot of common sense in this post at TD where common sense is hard to find sometimes.

based on history, one of the HS signees will have transferred out or not come by the time fall camp comes around. 4-6 guys after spring will transfer out.
That leaves us with 2-3 more spots.

I think he wants to see what he ‘s got in the Spring (as far as the players/coaches meshing etc) and will then decide on what the needs are.

Well I have donated, albeit not a substantial amount, but enough to have an opinion.

We have no info on who we spent money on in this class and I guarantee you we have already committed a large chunk to the 25 class core players.
We've already committed a large chunk of money to high school juniors? I couldn't be happier with the 2025 class so far but this doesn't make sense.

That's what I've been saying to add someone, they have to be better than what we have or what we think we have in potential. We're at the point that we have to send people off before we bring any in. Some of the ones we added last year didn't pan out so it has to be an answer, not a question.

At this point, I see no improvement.
So will you be there at Spring Practice to check their development? or is their ability at max right now?

Other than Zy Alexander, which one are you going on a ledge for based on what we've seen at LSU?
Brown-small, not physical and injured
Toviano-playing CB would be a disservice to him and our team. He's a nickel or S(preferably)
Stamps-weve heard good things. Seen less
Woodland-true freshman and needs to add weight
JK Johnson-weve seen nothing to inspire confidence. In fact we've seen nothing at all
Ju Johnson-true freshman that has never played CB outside of camps and little league(maybe)
Causey-true freshman, skinny
Hughes-weve seen nothing to inspire confidence
Foster-small, none of us really know how good he is and it's likely he's never a true CB outside playing man to man. He was recruited as a nickel.
We may be good in terms of #s and maybe the staff is happy. Them attempting to get Grimsley, talking to Ricks, attempting Amos kind of communicates a different message. But what do I know. The message board experts assure us the CB room is in good hands even though the staffs actions show different. Makes perfect sense, right?

Do you think Underwood, Moore, Berry, and even Moses are all locked in over a year out without a commitment from the NIL funds. That doesnt mean we have paid any yet but future outlays are on the table.

We upgraded from an awful DC. The rest have been guys who used to be here which makes LSU fans assume they are the best. Being familiar doesn’t equal greatness.

Yeah no shite, it was their success here and elsewhere that got them the job.

Same could be said for Matt House. Every hire we make people think is amazing.

Matt House never coached at LSU…

Seems pretty dumb to commit any kind of significant funds to kids that won't help your team in any substantial way for two years. If we struggle on the field at all next year their price will go up significantly.

It doesn’t work like that.

I believe we are 5 over now and with anymore DB's or DL, we will have to cut more than 5.

With Baker back to help with the Line Backers, and the new LB recruits. I am very excited to see what the LB room looks like in a couple of years. I think they picked up a couple of studs in this last cycle.

No one has mentioned Ryan Yaites from Denton Guyer who played CB and S in HS and was darned good...2nd best secondary guy only Peyton Bowen there and rated 16th best safety nationally. He looked pretty good this season when he played which was in all the LSU games with 16 total tackles.
