With Mason out as DC for Auburn does that help LSU?

It seems like Mason was well liked and him being gone may help in the future.

It sure as hell does help LSU. Their offense has been a roller coaster ride for what feels like the past 5 years. The defense has been consistent at keeping them in games.

I thought I read somewhere that you have to stay the first year or you have to sit out. So you either play for the team you signed with your freshman year, or you have to sit out that year.

Yes, actually happens a fair amount. Seth Steward signed to LSU and either never showed up on campur or left in the summer.

Well I think he is a solid DC. Did well at Stanford when he was DC and I thought Auburn's Defense was good, and their talent level was maybe above average at best.

Mason is a top level DC w/HC experience. I'd have been happy to see him come to LSU and unhappy to see him go somewhere else - like Florida - in conference.
