It certainly helps but there is plenty of evidence that you don’t need to be an experienced QB to be highly successful in your first year as a starter.

So you would rather a mediocre QB this year instead of greatness so we won’t be mediocre the next year? You’re a special kind of stupid. If the next year needs a QB you go get one if the ones on your roster aren’t ready. Remember Joe Burrow?

If brennan is gone after this year, we likely pick up a grad transfer for 21 and let the qb room of johnson, finley, and nuss season a bit. That's just how you have to manage a qb room in modern college football

Not really. Depends on the system. If LSU can carry over the system then Johnson or Finley should be ready. If they aren’t, they might never play with the QBs potentially coming up the pipeline.

If he does that then we repeat as national champions and QBs are lining up at our door.
The entire point is to win your next game. Not hope to win close games so that next year your guys are back and you’ll have a better chance to win that year.
