The ideal 2019 recruiting class for LSU at WR would be Lee and Palmer. Curry would be a bonus. There is a need to keep top shelf talent in state.

Amite High is basically segregated, and the residents could care less about the school or it’s players. There is no suppport or push to players attending Bama. It was white flight at its best to say it kindly, and justifiably so

What has happened is that a Bama staff member is working with a former friend to develop Amite and Kentwood players for UA

It’s been an untapped source of talent for some time that is just now being realized.

I doubt LSU gets any of the players in that area, unless they are second tier

Can we not send someone undercover to an Alabama fraternity house and get video of them saying racist things about their football team, post it to social media, let cnn run with it, get every famous rapper to denounce Alabama and any recruits who go there? Doesn’t seem hard at all. It’s Alabama. Understand your enemy’s weakness.

and so it begins. I have a feeling LA will be cherry picked by all the top dogs if LSU has a bad season
I truly believe LSU could have a good year though especially if One of the Qb's steps up. LSU needs to beat bama to stop bama from taking players from the state though. No more moral victories.

If those quotes don’t tell you the whole story then nothing will. Expect to lose several in state studs next year if we lose to them again and finish the season poorly. We badly need something to give us some positive momentum.

It's funny how people thought we lost a lot of highly rated LA recruits when Miles was here. Ed 0 will have half the state walking out before he finishes his "reign".

Damn shame too, because if we had gotten someone like Mullen after 2015, hell after 2016, we'd be loading up on everybody.

It happens nearly every year, so "hardly ever" is just plain wrong. LSU has lost several of their best prospects from LA to Bama over the last 9 years. At least one top LA prospect or an out of state "LSU lean" signs with them each year.

We've seen no evidence of this.

Yeah, they've really done well in that area. It also doesn't help LSU's cause that a true freshman WR from the same HS (and former teammate) just caught the game winning pass in the NC game for Bama. I think most probably feel this kid going to Bama is a near certainty.

That said, while you never like to lose top flight in-state talent (particularly to the team you MUST beat), it's easier to find a replacement at WR than it is with a lineman. That's why the DT is a MUCH bigger priority. If O can't get him to LSU, then you really have to wonder of what use Ogeron is to the program? That would be the loss of a Louisiana kid who also plays Ogeron's only position of expertise. If O were still just the DL coach and losing such guys then everyone would be clamoring to replace him. Why should it be any different now that he is the HC?

DO NOT take their second-tier kids. If Bama is going to get all of their top-tier kids, then the Amite staff should work out package deals so that the second-tier kids can go there as well.

Tell that to UGA. Head coach matters.

I saw the DT play this year and wasn’t impressed. He looked quite stagnant to be so highly rated.
Not the Lee kid, a different story.... Fast and physical.

You have to win eventually the only thing we can hang our hat on is that we have the most players active on an NFL roster that's our selling point

I think LSU lands Trey Palmer. LSU will need a big season to pull the 2 kids from Amite I think.

Beat this damn team on the field. It’s been far too long. That’ll help this problem
