re: Will Mingo lose his 4th star.

He could put on 20+ pounds in a year, easily. After his senior season, that could put him around 235. So 6'5 235... wouldn't be an impossible weight to play at. Plus, he could be a situation guy until he got a little bigger.

He is a kid that looks better in pads in a game than in camps and 7-on-7

He gets the chance to develop his skills and maybe get a shot at the next level.
So, he could develop his skills more playing for inferior coaches, with inferior teammates, and against inferior competition?

5 star if he commits to Alabumble. 2 stars if he commits to Ellis Hugh. Rivals bleauxs.

People from D-II, D-III, and mid-major schools make it to the NFL every year. Mingo may have a better chance at developing into a NFL caliber player by playing 4 years at a mid-major rather than riding the pine 3-4 yrs and maybe playing 1 year at a SEC school.

He wont ride the pine. He told me Miles told him he might not even Redshirt and may play some as a true freshman. I doubt this happens but this is wat KeKe told me.

I'm hopeful that D.J. Banks will garner a player ranking higher than No. 139 on Scout.
You see I hold back nothing....Scout is woefully wrong with that shite

He'll have to skip basketball and track if he wants that to happen. If he turns his life over to Coach Sanders, he will put on the weight/strength and will be ready from day 1 at LSU. If he plays basketball and runs track instead of getting in the weight room, no way in hell he sees the field his first year at LSU.

Who here thinks Mingo may lose his 4 star status and downgrade to a 3 star.
Just to add: I do really like Mingo and really hope he signs with LSU. I just wanted to here others opinions on the matter.
For one, I don't think that anyone will be downgraded until new film from this season hits Rivals or they observe Mingo in game. Its August and we are in HS FB season (this weekend or within the next two weeks). Rivals just did a huge review and regrade.
Mingo only has one year under his belt...he will make big advances this year.
Stays 4 star.

But his film will be at safety. His numbers will plummet this year and he very well could lose his 4th star.

Is this set in stone...him playing in the secondary all year?

That's where he's been practicing...

I can't remember the last time I had seen a 6'5" player play safety in college or the NFL.

My senior year Airline had 2 that were 6'5". Not sure if either played in college.

Urlacher was a Strong Saftey in college wasnt he?
I dont see Mingo losing his 4th star b/c most of the rankings are based on potential. He will be a playmaker in the secondary and will still lineup at OLB in some situations.

I have seen it happen time after time. A kid with some potential gets recuited by a big-time school, he gets all star-eyed, recruiters tell him all these story's, and he gets all pumped up and signs up. But in the end after 4 years, he may start in his senior year. Who knows what the player could have developed as at a mid-major.
dwayne bowe just took a shite on you

having a 6-5 S out there will lead to some eye-popping film, imho
