You never like to say "never" - but I tend to agree. I'm, first and foremost, an LSU fan and I love defense. To me, the greatest college football game in history was played in Tuscaloosa in 2011.

I've NEVER seen a defensive player be so disruptive and so potentially gamechanging - much less an undersized defensive back. And we'll never see it again - at least not likely - because his nose for the ball seems to be innate - unteachable, in other words.

Maybe "never" is too strong, but certainly 1 player in a generation. He's the best CFB defensive player I've ever seen in person, with the possible exception of Derrick Thomas.

I really agree with this, I was at this game too sat at the 40 yard line about 30 rows up. What an awesome game, unbelievable stuff, who would have thought that was the last time we beat those fricks?!

I don't want to derail the thread, but perhaps someone can shed some light on how often Patterson underperforms considering the talent they have. It is truly mind-blowing that they cannot do more at their level when they routinely have D-I players on the field.

1). Sign him up he is amazing

2). Why do the high school offenses look more complex than ours?

This statement is absurd.

This kid does seem to have a nose for the ball though.

Hope this kid and Charlot are not the best of friends. If so, we are behind the 8ball already.

While we were scrambling, Nic was rambling.

Coach Frank, Raymond and O-GO, go get this kid now! Miles needs to be in Patterson like today!

This kid should be at top of our list!! This kid is too good to play around with. He doesn't need to come to camp to get an offer...Camp to get an offer, are you serious?

Let's get aggressive and lock as many of these in-state guys as we can down now!

It's because of the talent disparency on both sides of the ball -high school teams can be more experimental and get bailed out by superior individual athletes if a play doesn't work out.

We need to reestablish that Lumberjack pipeline.

lulz

I liked in his junior highlights, he's the only one back (and in the frame) to get an easy pick, and they still stop the film to highlight where he is.

Because it's really hard to be a 5 start

Especially at the safety spot. According to 247sports, there have only been 10 5* safetys since 2010. And 2 of them were Keenan Allen and Shaq Thompson. Allen played WR and Thompson moved to LBer.

Safety is 1 of those undervalued spots and it's hard to judge a safety in high school.

That said, Nehemiah Augustus is a heck of a player and I hope we land him.

Nehemiah Augustus Is the real deal and I have been watching him for the last three years. I wrote an article on the LSU recruiting board on Christmas day for him and I want him with more offers. I promise you whoever gets him will be getting Sean Taylor part II. We have more talent on this Patterson team in the qb and running back. This will be Patterson best team in 2015 since Kenny senior year. Come here in the 2015 and watch these boys.
