I don't know. It's almost like they evaluate each guy instead of going by recruiting services. It's obviously not like that, but almost.

I wonder what Aranda could have done with Dejon Harris?

Do you really want three or four DJ Welters just because we on the rant think we need Linebackers. Aranda knows what he wants and is going after it the guys have to match the system. There is more to a player than stars.

Not necessarily, scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis. We could chose to not renew their scholarships, effectively making them transfer.

Aranda seems to be very particular in his taste in line backers.

And I trust him 100%.

Unfortunately the two he really wanted are going to Alabama. That still sucks.

I think he wanted Rice as much as those 2 tbh.

He sees something on film with certain guys and they get our staffs full attention.

Don't use up the scholarship if the talent doesn't warrant it. Quality over quantity.

Saw in another thread that the kid Baker was supposed camp last summer.

Guessing that didn't go so well? Or did he not camp?

Only place I know that he camped was at So. Miss. Know he attended boys from the boot, but don't think he camped at LSU.

I heard just yesterday his grades are fine, but the ACT score is a work in progress. That could be holding some bigger schools up.

La. Is a problem for linebackers in general. Lots of smallish schools. The guys with the physical build to play SEC linebacker are going to be on the DL for the most part.

have to think there have been a lot of LB size DE's or DT's that are hard hitters and have the speed to play LB that would have made great college LB's in this state that have been overlooked. Why don't we ever look at those guys and try to project them to LB?

Speed at LB is more than just straight line speed. Lateral speed and change of direction are way more important than for a WR or other positions. Debo is/was elite in those regards.

Saw that he is 6'1 185. Seems like a tweener. Definitely not an ILB that we need

Yeah compare that to the ILBs we are hosting soon...

Phillips 6'2 230
Ignont 6'2 230
Brooks 6'2 230

see a trend?
