Who does LSU finish out with?

Assuming Vadal commits to LSU tomorrow as expected, that gives LSU 20 commitments.
I was curious if you guys sign a full 25 or not, and how many SRs you have because it seems most of your key players are under classism. I know Lee and Jefferson are Srs as are a few OL and LBs.
Will LSU sign 25, and if not how many.
Also who will be the last few Les takes.

I just asked a legitimate question.
So I assume you think your not getting Landon Collins then?
I have heard Alford is a strong lean to LSU but won't commit until January.

I'm starting to wonder with the guys still left on our board that LSU really seems to want if the staff is going to ask some current commits to look elsewhere? I would hate that for those guys but we are still looking at Alexander, Collins, Phillips, Brown, Ward, Alford, Liggens, etc. If any of those guys want in...they're in...I would think.

Nobody posts in the SEC recruiting board.
And FWIW you guys always give great info especially on any Louisiana kids we are recruiting.
I try to give you the same info on Mississippi kids such as Alford. I have a feeling he will sign with LSU.

I hope we finish out with:
1. Landon Collins
2. Channing Ward
3. Vadal Alexander
4. Richie Brown
Then who ever wants in.

That's the second part of my question, how can they "get in" with the new scholarship limitation rules?
Do you think Les will pull scholarships from kids who have been committed for months?

Has there been any word on the status of Phillips' commitment to Florida?

For me, it's too early to tell who we finish out with. I gotta think we finish with most of top LA guys (Collins and either Devall or Phillips, don't think we'll get both) and have huge out of state surprise. But, I'm pretty sure we take a full class of 25.

I don't venture to the SEC recruiting board much. However, I'm ok with Bundy still posting over here. He's always got good info and doesn't flame like most of the bama posters. And he usually keeps us up to date on Miss recruits LSU is interested in.
I think we get Alexander and Collins. I hope we get Ward and Phillips. I'd also like Liggins and it's a long shot, but I'd really like to get Raphael Kirby.
The LSU roster shows we have 21 Sr's, but I'm not sure if Dennis Johnson, DJ Howard, Trent Hebert or Joey Crappell have scholarships. There's a chance that Ruben Randal and Morris Claiborne leave early. And I'd expect a few guys like Davenport to transfer next year.
And I do think this is a year that one or two guys may be asked to greyshirt or look elsewhere. I'm also sure Miles has told them that their committments are conditional that they fit into the numbers.

I have zero 'inside information,' but based on what I've heard from this board in my constant lurking and what has happened time and time again with Les and his classes, I think we finish
1. Collins
2. Phillips/Devall
3. Liggins/Alford
4. Alexander
5. Ward/Edwards/Stanford
I think we will get Collins, Alexander, one of the QBs, and then likely one of Phillips/Devall and the last three are all long shots but Les has shown a history of getting a long-shot conversion on NSD.

The guys on the MSU boards claim you can't Greyshirt anymore. Bama fans claim you can. I dunno
Posted on 10/10/11 at 11:09 am to Al Bundy Bulldog
You can. Greyshirting doesn't affect the 25 limit. It affects the 85 limit. When you grey shirt it means you signed a LOI. that means you must count to a signing class. Greyshirting pushes you back one class. So instead of being a member if our 12 class, they will instead join the team the following January as a full member with 5 years to play 4. If we grey shirt a player this year then they must be counted in the 2013 class.

That was my understanding. I don't know if we have room to greyshirt anyone this year. Especially if we were to win the mNC, then we'd want to sign all the big name guys for 2013.
It's still going to be a number crunch year, but not as bad as last year.

Ohh ok I got ya on greyshirting, but 25 is the magic number. You can't go over and you can't count back

I agree it's still a little early to know for sure who we finish with.We have more guys interested than we can take.
A sort of breakdown of some scenarios that could play out
Assuming Alexander commits to us tommorow as expected
Takes no matter what
Landon Collins S
Lorenzo Phillips LB
Denzell Devall LB
Channing Ward DE
Mario Edwards DE/DT
Other possibilities assuning we miss on aguy or two in that group
QB/Ath
Jeremy Liggins seems like we want him as our qb so we would likely make room somehow if he wants in
Anthony Alford bit of a risk because of baseball and is likely ours if we want him.Would come in as an athlete
RB
Jeremy Hill if he gets everything cleared up and wants in what do we do?I don't think anyone knows
WR
Dwayne Stanford we wanted him at one point alot but with his likely OSU commitment and some tight numbers,I'm not sure he's really a huge want at this point
D'haquille Williams. If he's qualified then I see no way we don't find a spot for him.I am not sure anyone knows for sure whether he will be in this class or next year's
LB
Richie Brown if we miss on Phillips or Devall then he slides into their slot if he wants it.I wouldn't be suprised if he was turned away if the big time DL wanted in
S
Deon Bush. If we miss on Collins then Bush is our next option.
We will definitely take 25 and my best guess at this point and purely a guess with a couple of these based on the unknowns of D. Williams and J. Hill
Alexander=20
Collins=21
Phillips=22
Ward=23
Brown=24
Liggins=25
Alford=26 and someone is shuffled around until he decides to attend college or play pro baseball
