We're also going to find great Qbs who win heisman trophies for us! We've had 2 in the past 5 years. What makes you think that another great one won't want to play for LSU, one of the Top brands in collegiate athletics?

Obviously the portal is gonna continue to be an avenue but we just balked at giving a supposed generational qb committed for a year 2.5 a year and a supposed generational DL talent from in the state 2 mil to sign, what makes you think they're gonna pony up for a 4 mil a year rental at QB? That's what Carson Beck and the Tulane kid got. Not the way I'd choose to go. But it's not my job to lose. Kelly and Sloan fittingly will go down together it seems. They better do some major winning this year. 9-3 is gonna get their asses fired. As it should.

Yep. Next year going forward looks dismal right now. Plenty of time left but we are signing 5 stars freshmen every year like Al, Oregon or Ohio State

Given what you have to pay a top QB recruit now who is going to sit 1-2 years minimum and may be a complete bust, I think you are better getting proven players in the portal. You can still recruit 3 and 4 star guys to develop and for depth but the price tag on these 5 star and high 4 star guys is not your best use of your money.

What about Keisean Henderson, he is rated the number 4 rated Qb and is committed to Houston

He's consistently been at or near the top of the QB rankings. Would think he's poachable, but seems like maybe not.

Not to worry. If Venables doesn’t have a really good year he will be gone and the portal will be our next chance.
