He got 4* DB Wardell Mack and 5* safety Xavier Filsaime to commit to Florida in this class. Both flipped to Texas after Florida let him go.

Giving him more credit than he deserves is idiotic. Just went through the list of recruits at LSU you gave him credit for. I see 20 hits and 39 misses IMO on players who ended up contributing much. I realize he wasn't the only coach involved in evaluation but then again, there is almost always a primary and secondary recruiter.
I'm disappointed with the hire if it happens. As I said before in another post, his first few years at LSU were much better in recruiting than his last couple of years at LSU. His lack of quality secondary signees in 2020 and 2021 led to the issues facing LSU in 2022 and 2023 in the secondary.

First, Mack decommitted well before Raymond was fired...games before season's end for Florida. Second, even for Filsiame, you don't think Florida's bad season caused his and Mack's decommits from Florida. I surely do...a lot more than Raymond being there or not.

You sure? Our S classes the past 2 years piss on his. Our CBs the past 2 classes at least even. Can't give him credit for getting then losing Mack and Filisame and not give Steeples the same latitude for Evans and Bates
Let me guess the replies, Steeples wasn't responsible for those kids. None of you follow UF recruiting, how do you know Corey was responsible for those kids? The LSU kids listed under Corey werent all Corey exclusive recruits.
Using Mack as a plus now is ironic. Thought he sucked now and we dont need him anyway. He got better suddenly because Raymond recruited him?
I'm no fan of bringing Corey back but I don't bash his recruiting. I just think we've saw how it ended and it wasn't a good look for him based on what the reasoning given was.
I do welcome him back and will support him. We could've done far worse. Far worse. His greatest value, much like Wilson, is at LSU. Both are considerably less valuable elsewhere. Their coaching gets exposed.

What constitutes a hit? Not every player is going to be a star.
How does this compare with the ratios of other coaches? Lower/higher? Need this for a true comparison
