LSU needs to increase their recruiting budget because a lot of outside schools are starting to come in and make a presence in the state.

The budgets we're fighting against aren't above the boards.

What, specifically, can an increased budget do to help with in-state prospects? We've argued this countless times here. If LSU really likes a guy in Florida, do you really think Frank has to check the budget before he plans his flight? Most of our targets are right down the road, that's why we spend less money. No one has been able to show me a convincing argument as to how using more cash, and not dirty cash, could improve recruiting.

3 of the 5 outright lied to the staff, telling them they were coming and didn't. The end.

WM didn't believe Willis was going to pick UF. Lewis kept telling him just wait. Guess Lewis was right.

In hindsight it's almost obvious. His mom's interviews almost give it away that she's not happy about his decision but it's his to make. I think most were caught up in the notion that Speedy and Willis wanted to play together and only had LSU in common.

Yeah his mom wasn't going to like anywhere other than LSU. Does she have any other kids?

I think so but I could be wrong but does it really matter because even if this kid bled purple and gold Collins and Willis would be in his ear so bad with their hate for LSU he would not come regardless.

For the love of God I pray to baby Jesus that Fournette trucks the ever living shite out of Collins.

Pretty much. No new information here that is meaningful. Nothing against the OP but nothing new here for me. I understand there are still some things that can't be shared, etc. and I respect the privacy of the recruits and their families.

At the end of the day I'd rather have those who want to be in the P&G than those who really don't. Whatever their reasons were for choosing other schools they are now Tiger Bait.

Being more visible in high schools. Dinardo was in the Monroe area all the time it seemed. A lot of people will talk about dirty money this and that, but Bama puts in a ton of leg work. Napier/Cristobal were here all the time last year. Use that plane and visit more often all over the state.

If UF hadn't laid an egg on offense in 2013, Speedy was also coming to UF. Was being sold on being the next Percy Harvin. There was a lot of things going on behind the scenes in the 2014 cycle. Some of which materialized but unfortunately when you come on here to share what you know to be true people attack you because that's not what they want to hear. This is a great board that a lot of people with good info can share but unfortunately people attack you or the mods threaten you if it's not pro LSU even if the info is true. Anyone that was listening knew Speedy was anti-LSU from day one and he kept saying over and over. But when he said it everyone thought it was ""troll job". And Willis was a silent over the summer and as a stated before Godchaux tried to silent last summer and UF would not take a silent. They try not to take Silents on OOS kids. There is a lot good info out there if people would just listen with an unbiased ear.

What does that have to do with money? That's what I'm asking. If you think coaches don't spend enough time on specific areas then that's an entirely different debate that I don't know the specifics of, but it damn sure isn't because they can't afford the gas to get there. Coaches are limited in the time they can spend on recruiting trips. Napier and Cristobal were there because that's where the top guy on their board was. Stud got lazy. Giving Stud a higher limit on his travel card wouldn't have changed a thing.

That's the point I'm making. Money can't create a better sales pitch or allow a coach to be in two places at once. Tennessee spends more money than anyone in the country on recruiting, because they don't have jack shite for local talent. They drop a grand on airfare just to talk to a kid, where we fill up a vehicle borrowed from a booster's dealership to drive to Nola. Aside from last year's class where they looked good on paper because they signed 40 borderline 3-4 stars, all that money hasn't paid off.

I haven't heard anything concrete about the job Willis's mom got either. Someone said it involved recruiting and she helps with talking to the parents about the whole process and what to expect and what programs will say.

JJ27 you and I have spoken several times. LSU is definitely a national brand and there is no one more pro Les Miles than me, but people that aren't really close to prospects being recruited don't understand how these kids perceive LSU on the recruiting trail in state. There is a lot of in state resentment out there and not just north Louisiana.

For the record, April frequents tigerdroppings. There is no job involved just taking good care of her son. She still works in NO in the film industry.

You said it yourself. A lot of this info is fluid and doesn't materialize. You have a unique perspective on recruiting most on this board don't have but high school kids say all kinds of things to college coaches that are pressuring them.

LSU may not get everybody in-state, but I doubt it's solely due to resentment. Everyone has their own individual situation that leads them to go elsewhere.

These kids tell the coaches anything but they are truthful with their families and close friends. You have to understand that when the recruiting process is over, these coaches are nowhere to be found. But family and friends are still there!
