re: What I know about the 5-for-5 fiasco

I work in Beaumont and a few of my coworkers have kids that played on Brown's team. That family was bought and paid for FACT. Saban took advantage of the dad having a stroke combined with lost income and straight up bought him a cb.

this isn't surprising and kind of figured this was the reason why...the writing was on the wall with how it played out
Posted on 8/5/14 at 8:33 am to BOSCEAUX
The Brown family being bought rumors started circulating the morning before the announcement. One guy even gave an exact dollar amount.
I'm surprised how out in the open the payment was and the NCAA is sitting on their asses.

Ok - I give up. What does a "cb" stand for? Been racking my brain for a few minutes but got nothing.

Tony Brown - I will take Adams because Brown is not sticking or may never play CB.
Noil - Give me Quinn, Dupre, Clark and company any day of the week over this head case.
Willis - No thanks! Had enough of that family drama and we are stack with young talent on the DL.
In the moment that day yeah it sucked balls but looking back now and moving on with this class I love it.
Great read thanks

I'd take Dupre over Noil for our offense. Quinn is a beast, too, but I can't say he's better than Noil. Clark isn't on that same level, no offense to him. We'll be fine without Noil given our haul at wr, but I'd have taken that head case and called him a good kid.

I am glad we can be done with that family, too, but we are not as stacked on DL as we could be, so losing Willis definitely hurt from a talent/depth perspective.

I do notice one consistent thread regarding LSU recruiting; we usually get the La kids who have strong, close knit families, with fathers who play important roles in their sons lives: Fournette, Brumfield, Moses, etc. Those Dads said they let their sons make their own choices because their kids happiness is their main priority. That's the way it should be, but kids without strong families are just so vulnerable to the "uncles" of this world who constantly interfere with kids recruiting.

Or because none of these jokers know anything

We've also have gotten plenty of players who were raised without fathers too.

Thanks for an unnecessary thread on something we have discussed ad nauseam in order to try and put yourself in a better light

Aren't 99% of threads here unnecessary?

Based on his upvotes and your downvotes.... I would say the board disagrees with your assessment.

I'm fairly sure that you would take a shot at me regardless what I post...I started this thread because I started receiving questions about it in another thread. Plain as that.

Will we see 2015 be anywhere similar to 2014?

I, like most of you, was very hopeful for 5 for 5. Certainly was a let down that day, but was very happy LSU landed the talent they did that day.
Now in hindsight, I'm glad we didn't get the 3.
Willis - I don't know a lot about him, just what I've ready here. If he has the attitude problems you guys are saying, then I don't want him.
Noil - I never trusted him from day 1. He's very immature and an attention whore. It's also apparent that he has off the field issues with weed, and that will cost him big time if he doesn't straighten up. If he does get caught by cops in College Station, they aren't going to blow it over. Those Aggie cops are die hards about the honor and integrity of A&M. They will nail him faster than you can blink.
He has tons of talent. In all honesty though, I don't think he would have seen the field at LSU this year. He's fast, he's a play maker. He's not as polished as Dupre or Quinn, and I don't believe he has the work ethic.
Brown - Well, sometimes you do what you have to do. Sounds like he has shoulder issues and I believe he would have fallen in the depth chart anyway. Add on the lies and deception, shows a complete lack of character.

The only thing I never liked about Noil's recruitment was when he failed to show up for the Rivals camp and when he wore a gold watch to one of the practices. It really didn't sit well. However, I would take him on the team in a second.
