He seems very interested in LSU .
Key Points
* he wants to play football and baseball
* quarterback-football shortstop/outfielder baseball
* 6-foot-1, 205-pounder
* Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year in football
* 75-139 for 1,399 yards, 16 TD, 5 int

He is the best athlete in the state of Mississippi IMO I have seen him play many times. He is actually up to 215 now and is benching over 300lbs, not too bad for a QB.

Well, he's gonna have to wait for the Jerrard Randall situation to come to a close as well. If Randall sticks with Oregon or goes to Georgia Tech, I could see Alford getting an offer.

Do you know how likely he may be going the MLB route?

I'd love to have him at LSU. I dont care if he could possibly go pro, it's worth the risk to sign him. He'll be a 2 sport beast at LSU.

Worth the risk ? Idk about that just yet. We lose two senior QB's. We Must sign two QB's that make it to campus. Otherwise we are in the same boat we were in 2008 if Mett gets hurt.

Also, while it's a small chance, Mett could have an amazing year and bolt after his first year. I know it's something that has a small chance of happening, but you can't rule out the possibility

You guys sure are setting the bar high for a kid who has never taken a snap in a SEC game. Do y'all think he is Cam good?

I'm not saying that's what I'm setting the bar at. I just said that it's a possibility, and you always have to weigh in every possibility that could happen

The only worry is that he scares off potential signees and bounces to the Minor's leaving us feeling, like well, we all have a good idea about that.

At least the Tigers have Rivers who will likely be redshirted next season. But they do need to sign 2 QB's. I doubt that Mett will have the kind of impact that would cause him to turn pro that soon, but I do expect & hope for improved QB play, thanks to the competition for the job that Mett will give the 2 seniors.

Does anyone know how serious the mutual interest is between us and Randall?

Alford just got offered by Clemson yesterday. His list now includes Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, and Clemson.

He said in his article that he feels LSU will offer next.

Do you guys think that LSU will offer him?

If Randall clears everything and commits, then no. If Randall doesn't come here, I still think LSU will talk to him more in-depth about the MLB route so they don't get burned twice by QBs who go that way

Damn I forgot about Alford. I was hoping he'd be a part of this class but with Randall maybe coming we won't need another duel threat QB.

Randall coming or not, I would like Anthony to be part of this class. I live in Petal now and Anthony is a really good kid. Has the type of character we want on this team. My wife taught his siblings and knows him pretty well. If we offer he is ours.

IMO, I see signing Randall as giving LSU more of an opportunity to offer Alforf. If we miss on Randall, we absolutely need to sign someone who is guaranteed to be on campus. If we sign him, we can afford to take a risk on Alford. It wouldn't ve a Zach Lee deal because we'd have Mett, rivers, and Randall in the fold
