May have only signed two (2) ILBs in the 2023 class, but really like both of them a lot!!

LSU signee Whit Weeks has been the best LB in coverage
Now this, I like.

We may have only really gone after West to get his brother Whit but I think it will pay off. Dude is really talented and West contributes here at least as well even if he might not end up starting.

I've been getting roasted for months saying that I think this kid is just as good a LB prospect as Tackett. Except he's played at a much higher level.

You like it because he is like Ohio St. lb’s

Everything about his recruiting evals says he will be a good one. His older brother doesn’t suck either, even if he’s just a depth guy in the SEC, talent wise.

Like Ohio State LBs in what aspect?

They’ve had a string of great coverage LB’s

Ohio State linebackers? you mean kids that bring there lunch pail every day and have very high motors? Or you just referring to white LB's?

And by all accounts his family isn’t made up of a bunch of douchebags pumping their chests on other teams message boards.

West Weeks recorded 4-5 tackles in the bowl game yesterday. He’s a solid depth piece, for sure.
While it doesn’t sound like he’s quite as good as his younger brother, I’m glad we have both. And lastly, 2022 was only West Weeks second (2nd) collegiate season - there’s still time for him to continue developing and have a solid career by the time he’s done at LSU.
Again, i’m thankful to have both Weeks’ brothers at LSU.

OMG what the frick is wrong with your little brain that you must bring this type of subject matter into the discussion? Having diversity on our defense is great! Might be different but why the hell is this even brought up at all? It really shows your true nature when you people talk this way.

Kids going to be a diamond in the rough for this class. He’s a damn good athlete and covering high level WRs in this update. Played a lot of RB in high school along with LB. I expect him to contribute a lot of special teams early and make his way into the lineup if he’s that good in pass coverage.

LSU signee Whit Weeks looked like the top linebacker for the East, by a considerable margin. The Athens, Ga. native was outstanding in coverage, tallying a pass break up in the corner of the end zone against Brandon Inniss and later coming down with an interception. Weeks’ functional movement skills and feel for working in space stood out. – Charles Power

Whit weeks is on a different level when it comes to his brother.
Love perk, tolan, and whit weeks at linebacker.
Braithwaite also has a chance to be a really good linebacker.
I'd still like them to grab a top linebacker out the portal.
Tolan is going to be a good linebacker.

100% agree with everything you said

I agree with your outlook for the most part.
Only thing I would add is my belief that many are prematurely writing-off Greg Penn, III. I’m not saying that Penn’s ceiling is comparable to HP40 - nobody’s is.
What I am saying is that it takes a little longer for some to flourish as an ILB - Damone Clark is a good comp. Tiger nation wanted to run him out of Baton Rouge after his first two (2) seasons failed to meet their expectations. Undeterred, DC never stopped working hard - then, seemingly out of nowhere in his 3rd year at LB, everything clicked for Damone. He finished that season with 100+ tackles and was a semi-finalist for the Butkus award.
Just so happens - in one of Damone Clark’s last interviews with the local media - he specifically named Greg Penn as someone that’ll become a star before his time is complete in BR…..

Man, I loved Damone Clark. Because it took him a while to get going, it felt like he wasn't here that long. If Penn ever has a year in the same hemisphere as Clark's final season, I'd be ecstatic. I hope that Damone is right.
