I just saw it on X. Perfect timing brought P7 home to help close on Pickett.

Next bring Marcus Spears, Bennie Logan, Glenn Dorsey and Michael Brockers in the building. Many of these younger guys probably aren’t very familiar with that fairly recent history of great DL play. I think we could build something even more special than it was then with Brian Kelly’s new Defensive staff, Bo Davis and company. It could get nasty real quick!
I hope they can drive home this message with these young guys. LSU is well known for DL play and Defensive play overall. We have a long history of sending top draft picks to the league with success. You guys can be the next LSU dominant defense and help us to get to and win multiple championships. Let’s get it.

I was listening to On3 and they said PP7 knows Pickett and family and can also speak to how Corey helped develop him. I would say the timing certainly wasn't accidental.

Corey wasn’t coaching DBs here when Peterson played here - he was asst strength coach for his freshman year
