LOL, wut?

Those lose some key guys this year but have had a couple of good recruiting clases, including 2012 which was pretty set before Sumlin was hired.

IMHO, the aTm head coach now & in the future has little bearing on LSU success. aTm won't be getting top recruits from LA just because they play in the SEC--most of the kids grow up wanting to play for the Tigahs. Likewise, aTm won't shut LSU out of Tejas--too many players available in the 2nd most populous state.

I know it's not the same, but LSU's first AA basketball HC hasn't exactly set the recruiting world on fire.

now that they have a coach who the kids can relate to will go a long way in their favor IMO. Now with them getting Golden and Im hearing hes already on a bunch of LA kids for 13, its going to be interesting to see where he takes the program.

aTm has a ways to go before being a serious SEC contender. Can Sumlin get them there? Maybe, maybe not. IMHO, they will continue to target LA kids if for no other reason to make LSU work harder in keeping home kids home.

I still say thats a trap game next year in CS.

Any road SEC game (except maybe Vandy) is tough, & that CS crowd will be into it unless/until LSU takes control.

Lets face it, anyone who has been to College Station knows its a tough sell for any inner city kid, i wouldnt call it the best looking town or campus, and im sure the smell of shite doesnt get them too excited.

Um... If I'mnot mistaken, they finished out the regular season 6 and 6, eaked out a victory against Northwester in The Meineke care bowl and through Mike Sherman under the bus. Sounds like they are ready to rumble?

Winning a message board arguement is like taking gold at the special olympics: even if you win you're still retarded.

No you are not mistaken, you can read the score and standings are able to objectively look at what happened and see the big picture or just the wins and loses? Perhaps the problem is you and I have different definitions of the phrase competlely rebuild. You say they eacked out a win over NW when they won by 11. They also lost by 1 to the #3 team and 4 to the #5 team. Both after building big leads. 5 of their 6 losses were by less than 1 score. To me that sounds more like a team that's not quite there, that just can't get over the hump, most likely due to coaching, not one that needs to be completly rebuilt. 2012 will not be great for A&M, but they should get some young guys expirience, adding Davis and Williams will be a big help. Since those guys were already committed, i don't view that as a rebuild

How would I know?

No one keeps track of such a stat when speaking of non-rival schools.

in the last 35 years its even basically. All time in favor of UT by a good bit. There's a long strentch from WWII when most A&M students were in the military until after they stopped being an all male military scholl that UT dominated. Congrats

That thought process worked out well for the minority coach at Miss State and for Randy Shannon. Just because you hire a minority coach doesn't mean he'll get all the good players and win all kinds of games.

The difference between Sumlin and the other guys are experience Sumlin has had time to learn. Don't be surprised if Texas A&M is a perennial top 10 recruiting rankings program like LSU Texas Alabama etc

There can only be 10 top ten teams every year. You know Bama, Tx, USC, Florida, LSU will probably take up 5 slots. Add UGA, Oklahoma, tOSU and that leaves roughly 2 spots that will get shuffled. I think aTm will ultimately be similar to a Clemson in recruiting. They will be top 10 about every 3-4 years and hover in the teens normally.

yeah ask Aggies how that UT rivalry ended last November. Also i love the argument from Aggies that they dont count records before 1970, etc.

Well lets see, their ONLY NC was in 1939 so I guess they have 0 according to their standards.

Champinships are forever, that's different than counting games. And no one says not to count the record, but put it into conntext. Since A&M became a modern, coed, non all military college the head to head series with UT is basically even. Before then it was lopsided. What is more relevant in 2011, the last 35 years or the 35 before that? What's more telling that LSU is 3-3 vs Alabama with Saban and Miles or that LSU was 2-16 with McClendon vs Bryant?

So its, building, not RE-building... Right?!

i don't view that as a rebuild

Ok, for the sake of argument - they've got a lot of building to do.

Hell, where do I sign?!

Do you always get caught up in semantics or do you try to offer something substantive?
