We say these things because we've seen what happens. These are the accolades of some of the people we took last year

Harris - 5 star CB who was a freshman All American

Speights - All Pac 12 first team LB, and freshman All American. In 3 and a half years before LSU, he had 310 tackles, 25 TFL, 5 sacks, 3 ints, and 3 fumble recovered. He just had 66 tackles for us. That's it. No other stats.

Duce Chestnut - freshman All American, and 2 time ALL ACC corner. Had the 14 ranked pass defense his 2nd year there.

Diggs - 900 rush yards, 200 receiving yards and 6 total TDs as a starter for Notre Dame last year.

Anderson - former 5 star WR who was a redshirt freshman

JK Johnson - former top 100 overall player than was a corner who started, when he wasn't injured, for Ohio St. Legit 4.4 speed.

Jordan Jefferson - 5th year senior who started 2 years at West Virginia and his last season there he had 9.0 TFL and 3.5 sacks in 12 games.

Ovie Oghufo - a 6th year senior that started 2 seasons at at Texas where he posted 14 TFL and 5 sacks over a 2 year period. He had played in 42 games at Texas and Notre Dame.

Zy Alexander - a 6'3 corner from the FCS ranks, but was a ball hawk. If you complain about his pickup, don't talk shite about Jared Verse who many of you wanted out of Albany.

We took enough guys, enough guys with great production and accolades, and talent last year. We were trying to pair the DL with 5 star in Smith returning and a 2022 All American in Wingo returning. We tried pairing multiple corners with high talent, accolades, and production together. On paper, it was a very envious haul. Brooks was coming back and Burns at safety and Andre Sam and Sage Ryan were supposed to be in rotation. LSU did exactly what it should have done. They recruited highly physically talented kids and high production veterans from power 5 teams.

8 million things happening including losing a DL coach twice, losing your best DB to a brain tumor, losing what was supposed to be a starting corner to injury before the season, the other 2 corners going AWOL, losing the previous All American DL for the regular season halfway through, losing, at that time, your best and only decent corner right before the Bama game, losing your seemingly stud freshman LB to injury and rumored gambling with fake IDs, etc.

None of you clowns were acting like this when we destroyed the portal last year. We saw it didn't work out, so we understand there is a possibility here too.

They beat us because our defense was straight arse all year, we dropped 6 passes, huge passes, we were without our top 4 leading rushers at RB, and we didn't run a QB sneak at the freaking goal line on 4th down not once, but twice.

Why not this year too? LSU should be all in every year. Georgia just got Etienne. No reason LSU should ever take their foot off the gas when it comes to recruiting or the portal.

Playing defensive tackle is not always about stats. You can "make the play" without even getting a stat.

Its about being disruptive enough to draw Double teams, not allow lineman to get to the 2nd level, and freeing up your linebackers to make plays.

He played a big part of why Edgerrin Cooper had 17 TFLs.

Tyler Shelvin didn't make a lot of tackles but he was disruptive enough to free up Queen & Phillips in 19



... and this is not about what he did against us, its about how can he help us get better.

Makes sense. He comes in and starts with their great offense.

Walter Nolan is a good but NOT great player. Don't give a damn what the bogus recruiting sites rate him as. His stat over 2 years at A&M where he played 22 games...66 tackles (solo + assists weighted 2 to 1 assists BTW), 5 sacks, and 1 fumble forced. If I were him, I wouldn't hold my breath for the College Football Hall of Fame. I'm not saying he wouldn't have deserved a scholarship at LSU, but for those who think this is some gigantic deal... He is an above average DT..that is it!
