They could have already done that based on the pleadings filed though. They didn’t have to grant a new hearing so why would they if they aren’t already seriously considering lowering the penalty?

Specifically, I don't know. But, there was mention of "new evidence" that may have justified it.

I think the chances are very low. I hope I'm wrong.

How many CB duos can you name?

high expectations for a player you've never seen play a down.

Multiple people around LSU have said he’s the most physically gifted CB on the roster.

A lot were saying he was ahead of Greedy on the depth chart... has to mean something

He would have been starting over Greedy last season. As crazy as that sounds. If we get him back, you'd be hard fought to find a better secondary in the country. Just the depth aspect alone would be tremendous to have him back, but then to have elite level CBs on both sides (Fulton and Greedy) plus Kary Vincent and Alexander at the Nickle with Delpit and Battle at the safety spots...That's a nasty secondary my friends... I'm afraid to say I have my hopes up now. Let's just hope the 4th Reich (NCAA) decides to show him a little mercy.

Do you think Monroe will push Battle for some decent playing time? In his limited action last year, Monroe looked really good.

Man I hope NCAA decreases the penalty and gives him time server credit. Would be awesome to have him back and play vs Miami. MIA has some strong WRs we could have trouble with.

I think both he and Paris will push for PT. Got some good depth on the back end that will help. The biggest difference people will notice in the defense this season is that Aranda is finally running his full scheme. Last year we ran base calls 90% of the time. He's about to turn the horses loose as far as the LB corps goes. I think Chaisson is going to have a big year because of it, too.

I trust most of ya'll on here on this situation. I don't expect him to be reinstated personally but if there were any evidence withheld that could have made his sentence less severe hopefully the NCAA proves it really does care about the athlete and does the right thing.

Fulton in my opinion alongside Greedy makes is a complete package.

Basically, he never tampered the sample. The tester said he saw him "attempt". But since he technically never turned in a false sample, he didn't do it. The basis is only on what someone saw. So now the Fulton lawyer is basically saying "prove it".

I agree with you. It will still suck arse if they give him 6 games for this year. Better than giving him the whole year but never the less still shitty.

I know what the rules state but a 2 year, think about that 2 freaking year suspension? Come on NCAA!

They are arguing he falls under Section 3.3 which claims a violation if a tester
fails to provide a urine specimen according to protocol; (this is why they are arguing the collection process, he gave a sample it just didn’t follow normal procedure)

If the NCAA agrees with this then it is viewed as a positive test result and carries a one year suspension which he will have already served.

In my opinion this can be a win-win for the NCAA and Fulton. The NCAA doesn’t need to cave into demands just acknowledge there is a different violation that could be assigned to him. Fulton is still considered guilty and has served punishment and still sees the field a year early.

Which makes sense as to why we're going for the "time served" plea.

I'm cautiously optimistic about it.
