That's always been my hang up with this. If I were in the position of the big money guys, why the frick would I just want to give it away to some random teenager on the hope that he goes to the school I root for.
I'd rather have the money go to my family.

Bama folks are that obsessed with it all

Well sure he did. But that doesn't mean they didn't go in with open eyes. They knew who they were dealing with.

First, I'll go on record as having no issue with Vol. Clearly, he has some connections as a majority of his commentary in terms of recruiting has been pretty on point.
IDK about this. As someone (can't remember who) said months ago, "watch what he does". I'll admit, I was hopeful that we'd get him. But the "Role Tied" tweets on his page, going to watch Bama/Mizzou instead of LSU/GA, not committing/signing early when we were the only college to offer his brother...he didn't lie. His actions clearly said he was going to Bama.
Probably what made Vol and others think we'd get him was the numbers crunch - but when C. Harris and K. Bogle officially flipped, that definitively locked Ish into his spot.
He made his decision, but like Kardell said, we will beat Bama before it's said and done.

You're right.
He just straight up lied. His actions didn't.

How so? Because I stayed on the sidelines and watched for a few years then decided to make an account? Believe me, I've wanted to post many times over the last few years. I probably came on a little strong when I finally got an account, I agree. There are just certain posters that I had built up angst against.
Your writing style says otherwise.

Just curious. Can you be specific,
Burrow was the first time I noticed Vol coming with spot on info.

Sure you do.
Because it's so hard to fathom that some here might actually know a big booster? OK..

You really don’t. I am talking people with their name on buildings. I doubt they even know what the recruiting class looked like. I’ll be talking w one in a couple hours.

Woah, look out everone we have a one upper on the recruiting board.
Like I said, you haven't a clue.

I am just telling you. They have zero interest in breaking the rules. And IF there were some dude that wanted to buy Chargers for recruits they would giggle and insure that it never happened. They don’t want the university embarrassed

Ok hoss. Ask yourself this. If your money man wants to pay a lease on a Charger and slide a guy 50k and everyone is doing it....then why aren’t we?

That statement right there tells me me all I need to know about who you know and what you know.

But he's been wrong multiple times.. I don't get it

quote:the board of directors has zero to do w it. Are you referring to the Board of Supervisors.
LSU Board of Directors
You do know the difference?
Posted on 2/8/19 at 10:02 am to Prominentwon
Well I'm not sure why. Maybe I should use poor grammar and I'll be accepted more?
Posted on 2/8/19 at 10:11 am to Earlpearl
At this rate, you might give it a shot. Nothing to lose...

Vol-I have referred to you as the board MVP of the year. I initially heard Lee was Bama bound, but changed that prediction by mid-Summer. As for Sophser, here were my Sopsher comments in the last year:
Feb-
June-
June-
June-
Sept-
Oct-
Oct-
Nov-
Dec-
Signing week-
Signing week-
8:30 am signing day amid the celebration of his impending signing-
I'm not calling you out Vol. I appreciate your substance and style. I'm just saying I am surprised more people did not see the obvious with Sophser. It could not have been any more obvious. Like a super-nova in the night sky obvious.
Feb-
quote:
I have a source in Tangipahoa. A head coach or former HC. A prominent name.
What he tells me about what goes on in Amite is alarming.
June-
quote:
Bagmen, “ coach “, father figure, handler, fixer, transportation to camps, lodging at camps, momma needs a job, walking around cash, quid pro quo, “ 500$ handshake, introductions, grease the wheels , nice wheels, you take care of me I’ll take care of you, etc etc ....
June-
quote:
Well, at least the (Tangipahoa) economy got an influx of fresh greenbacks.
June-
quote:
Except human psychology. People build relationships and become loyal to those relationships even if they are corrupt in nature. It’s kind of an “ honor among thieves “ concept- I take care of you, you take care of me. It keeps guys loyal to “ their “ bagman.
Sept-
quote:
A HC in the north part of Tangipahoa sat me down and walked me through it all last year. Shady doesn’t even begin. Criminal would be more apt.
Oct-
quote:
It’s a cesspool of corruption. Better to just stay away. Maybe be a little more public about exactly how the bagmen are profiting from these kids and who is paying them.
Oct-
quote:
You guys do it to yourself every year.
Every single year.
Nov-
quote:
Jesus Christ you sad sacks on your knees amaze me with your desperation and stupidity. Every. Single. Year. With.This. Shite.
Dec-
quote:
I see it differently . I see it as people being familiar with the facts, familiar with the history of the last decade and kids going to Alabama, and familiar with this kid’s specific associations and conduct. And rationally deciding they aren’t going to be Charlie Brown when Lucy is holding the FG attempt. It’s just a desire not to be had again.
quote:
Every single year it plays out exactly the same, lol....
Signing week-
quote:
Sophser-No chance.
quote:
You people do this to yourselves every year. Every single year. It never fails . I’ll see everybody back here when Sophser signs with Alabama to say it again.
Signing week-
quote:
There is a reason my comments on Sopsher over the last year has always included the statement "you guys do this to yourselves every year".
Signing week-The reason I say that is because you guys (not you Egg) do this to yourselves every year. EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
8:30 am signing day amid the celebration of his impending signing-
quote:Because that’s who we are.
There has to be that “ night before signing day sunshine pump “ from the “ guy in the know”. Everybody then goes into “ we getting errybody “ mode , ensuring the board nuclear meltdown after the kid in question then signs with Bama.
Then after getting this painful enema, LSU fans will line up again to do the same thing again in 2020.
I'm not calling you out Vol. I appreciate your substance and style. I'm just saying I am surprised more people did not see the obvious with Sophser. It could not have been any more obvious. Like a super-nova in the night sky obvious.

I saw it. Why do you think he went to the BAMA/Missouri game when a top 10 clash was in his backyard? $s$
