I couldn't care less what LSU thinks. For me, I like who UNT signed and am more than happy not to have Odoh. Pretty raw talent. If he signs at LSU, I think JJ will have a very big project on his hands for a couple of years. I wish the kid well...and who the heck cares what LSU thinks? I'd be plenty OK with never playing them again...unless it's a bowl game or NCAA game!

Quoted from that link. A bowl game against LSU?! Hahahahaba

Do you have any source for this or are you just pulling it out of some nether region?

It's funny because you stuck your foot in your own arse trying to be a funny guy.

Okay, hoss. You win. Your lack of a sense of humor is impressive. I bet women love it.

I don't feel like digging but Shaq stated it himself how thankful he was of Trent helping this happen. If you really need to see it, I will go find it.

I'm glad Trent got that Shaq statute built. It was a tremendous part of all of the success we have experienced lately.

A little more in depth article on Odoh's release:

LINK

quote:

“I feel strongly that had I been allowed to meet with John Odoh in the days following my arrival at North Texas that he would have embraced the direction of this program,” Benford said in a prepared statement. “It is unfortunate that it was unable to happen. Moving forward, we wish John the best in his future endeavors. We are extremely excited about the signees we have coming in from both an athletic and academic standpoint, and we are happy that all of the returners have thoroughly embraced our culture and philosophy.”

quote:

Swede Trenkle, head coach at Hill College where Odoh played junior college ball, said Odoh receiving his release was best for everyone involved.

Odoh has yet to receive the paperwork making his release official, but Trenkle expects to have it in the next few days.

Odoh can then begin considering his options in terms of where he will continue his career. Trenkle said Odoh does not know at this point what his options will be.

“John was really nervous about not knowing what he could do,” Trenkle said. “He is very thankful that North Texas and coach Benford decided to release him. This is the best outcome. He is an unbelievable kid who trusts very few people. Now he can sit back, relax and make his decision.”

If we get Odoh and Pollard, what would be your reaction the first time we run out a lineup with the following size:

PG - 6'6"
SG - 6'5"
SF - 6'7"
PF - 6'9"
C - 6'10"

Hammink, Coleman, Pollard, JOB, and Odoh. Obviously not an all day, every day line up, but a potential one to create ridiculous matchup problems for the opposing team.

I'm not sold on Hammink as a PG. I'm sure he can bring the ball down the court if needed, but most wings can do that. I don't see him even as a backup PG. I could be wrong, and hope I am.

Do we have a 3 point sniper on the roster now? Who has the best 3 available?

I wasn't saying that would be the starting line up, or primary line up. Just a possible one.

That is the key part to me. Forcing him to stay for whatever reason would have been pretty low, especially given all of UNT's incoming transfers.

I hadn't read that. It was always my impression that Shaq was the biggest obstacle to a Shaq statue.

I'm freaking loving this excitement being generated by tiger hoops in May. As one of the loyal 3500 who never misses a game I welcome all reluctant tigers to come see me at the PMAC in the fall.
