underwood is in 2025. Sayin could be gone by then with how kids move around these days

McIntyre will end up at Tennessee. Also some of y’all are pathetic just accepting he’s going to Bama now, how many times has he even visited Bama? All signs have pointed to him leaning LSU and nothing has changed as of now to assume otherwise

Call me crazy, but the season Jayden just had should trump anything Saban can show him on a visit. I realize Saban is a master manipulator and will do whatever he has to do to land kids, but I have a hard time believing Underwood scraps LSU at this point. Our staff should already be negative recruiting the hell out of the way Milroe was used for much of the year compared to JD5.

You're not just recruiting him as a high school senior, you're also laying the ground work for later on if the player does leave his initial school via the portal. I'd still bet cash money he commits to LSU in January, but that's just like, my opinion man.

That’s a very good point. You want to be in the picture for the future, if nothing else in the portal era.

No. I think Saban wants the best players on his team.

But the reality is this. If Underwood does go to Bama in the 25 class, he probably won’t even play for Saban beyond his freshmen’s year.

Since I have a daughter at Alabama, let me just say, it's like freaking Disney there in Tuscaloosa..

95% of Tiger fans are clueless how nice it is ...

The people are nice, and everything there is run like a well oiled machine...

For me, I now understand why Nick was able to snatch top talent from LSU...

Of course there is the Saban factor which is hard to say to no to, but then the dang campus and facilities are top notch.

Add in the Alabama brand, all the current NFL players, and the 18 championships,(Several are questionable for sure) well, it's kind of impressive don't you think so, I'd be worried if a 5 star QB we wanted was visiting this late in the process.

I don't know for a fact but I'd have to assume Alabama has way more NIL money to play with than LSU does...

It’s absolutely Saban’s plan. I’ve just been waiting for this news to break out, I knew he would find a way to get him in for a visit just cause we are the favorites.

Apex, shame on you for allowing your offspring to go to Gumpville.

I kid, but only a slight amount.

This is why you get a transfer portal QB every year..

People sounded silly just two weeks ago saying Underwood was a done deal. Nothing is done in recruiting. Especially when it’s the number one player in America. You can’t count on him coming.

Think about it. Underwood has had 2 years to show interest in Bama and I’m sure they’ve tried to get him interested. Then on the weekend before signing day, he takes a visit. It’s not rocket science. There is another 5-star safety coming for a visit as well.

Saban will give him 100 mil and his new car to go to Bama.

I guess it’s a good thing he’s not signing this year.

Saban will always have a lot to sell. However, what kind of history of QB development does Tommy Rees have beyond half a season with Milroe? There’s not a lot he can point back to in his time at ND in terms of offensive system or QB development. Bama had that over everyone with Kiffin and Sark. BOB could at least sell his NFL credentials, but Rees isn’t a heavy hitter when put up against the top offenses in college football.

Denbrock and Sloan have the current Heisman trophy winner who made remarkable strides this season. Denbrock can also point back to taking Desmond Ridder from a raw, unheralded 3 star athlete to an NFL QB. The offense at LSU has been as good or better than Bama with less talent across the board for two years straight. There’s absolutely no comparison between the two this season.

I get the negativity and what Saban can sell. But we wouldn’t be in it and supposedly the front runner to get Underwood’s commitment if we weren’t offering up big boy NIL numbers. We currently have the better offensive system and staff. Offensive recruiting is already strong and set to explode in 25 if he commits.

The top 2 or 3 QBs in a class like Underwood are usually more interested in who can get them ready to start day one in the NFL than anything else. They are going to get big money just by virtue of the position they play, so they don’t have to worry about the bag game. I’m sure competing for titles matters, but USC and UT are pulling guys right now based on offensive system and the staff’s history of development. The same could also be said for Texas before they finally broke through this season. LSU absolutely has that to sell today, as well.
