Dumervil tweeting all kinds of Florida stuff. Not too good for us.

I’m gonna guess we lose one of our two five star receivers, Jarrett or Burton, and pick up Koy Moore. That still leaves three spots.

The need is obvious. We need another offensive lineman and at least one running back in the class. The locals, Van Pran and Clayton seem to be most likely. I like our chances with Clayton best of the two.

There are lots of possibilities for the third spot, but Guillory would be the one we want. You can’t have enough blue chip defensive linemen and for all we know, Guillory could be the best of the batch.

It’s looking good. We are in on a half dozen studs with three spots to go.

Gulliory might go to Bama that’s a very real possibility

I don't think it's Taylor and I don't think that anyone gets "processed" we're about to see the pther side of the spectrum where other teams are gonna start telling our recruits that LSU is gonna be over the limit and gonna have to drop a few guys. Trying to scare them into consider flipping from LSU.

Alabama , Clemson, OSU etc. Have the same situation as we do. Lots of players out there with teams having only a few spots left.

Currently 9 DL commits if you count the 3-4 OLB’s

That's why you don't count the 3-4 OLBs. Still currently LSU has 7 DL commits (one of which I think will probably go to the OL) which is way better than how LSU has done for years now. If we get Guillory we'll have restocked the shelves as well as gotten multiple 1st and 2nd year contributors.

ETA: After going over this thread, I see a couple of people believe that LSU has two many DL, not so. We have 9 guys whose position on 247 says pretty much DL. Two of those guys are OLBs, and even if they put their hands on the ground some, they're still OLBs the vast majority of the time, same as Chaisson and Key. Another guy is most certainly going to the OL, leaving you with six. Like others have said, I don't think we keep Gaye, so five DL in total. That would give us 4 spots total for a DL, 2 OL, and a RB.

No moving Kole Taylor like I've seen people mention before either. He's 6'6 and he can move. Get him to about 240-245 and hope he can be a dominant flex TE.

Only one OL in La. next year but many RB next year with two taken last year.

I admit that I don’t know shite about recruiting, period. And I dont know how it works out by horse trading this year’s spots for next year.

But I would feel more comfortable if we went ahead and front-loaded Oline this year instead of relying on out of state guys next year. Try to land two good backs next year like we did in 2018.

Guillory, Van Pran, and Evans (hopefully), Milton, or Johnson if they want in. If there is any chance to get Dumerville, we'll have to cut somebody, but two more OL, a DL, and the best RB in the class is what I'm hoping for.

If Curry doesn't get enough snaps and is third string next year, he could most definitely transfer leaving us with only Emery and Davis and Helaire. I expect Helaire to eclipse 1000 yards from scrimmage, plus with his KR ability, he could more than likely leave early. Brennan is no runner either so one RB is definitely needed. There is no Burrow at QB to take 100+ carries, or Etling who had 72 the previous year, so they will have to be dispersed among 1-2 extra guys.

Even if we only lose one of Curry/Helaire, we've seen Fournette and Guice go down in consecutive years which meant others needed to pick up the slack. UGA knows this well having lost Gurley, Marshall, Michel, and Chubb to injury in 3 consecutive years. In 2014 in a 6 game span, they lost Marshall, Michel, and Gurley, and for a 3 game span (all SEC games), they were without all three.

With a team that will run the ball 40 or more times per game and a traditional pocket passer at the helm, coming into the season with only 3 RBs is not wise, and if my worst case becomes reality, only 2 RBs.

Getting a RB this year is not a value or luxury pick, it is a necessity in this new transfer portal and early exit football era.

I've been saying this for a while now. For one thing LSU is almost never in the running for the best JUCO guys, and 99% of the time, the JUCO guys we do get rarely, if ever, do anything. You'd have to go back to 2013 Fehoko (who started like one year I think), and Mett from 2011 to get people that really contributed.

Damien Lewis is a juco guy. I think PFF had him as our highest rated offensive lineman last year.

If there is a way we can snag Van Pran and Dumervil, that would be incredible and take so much pressure off of our OL situation. I maintain that our finish could be:

Guillory
Van Pran
Dumervil
Evans or Johnson
Moore
Webb

I know I’m stating the obvious, but this situation is the outcome of the December early signing period; and it’s a good thing.

I agree we will most likely see some natural attrition in this class since their senior season hasn’t even started yet... Plenty of recruiting to go.

First in hopefuls in my mind (with one decommitment)
-Guillory is a needed NT piece with only two on roster for our 3-4 defense
-Van Pran
-Dumervil
-Johnson (only helps our case with Van Pran)

Lagniappe with potential further attrition:
-Webb
-Moore

Currently 3 spots. As much as I like the 22 we have committed, we might not actually get all 22.

We have 7 names currently out there as possibles, maybe even likely.

RB A Johnson
WR K Moore
OT M Dumervil
OC S Van Pran
DT J Guillory
LB P Webb
CB M Domino

My guess, today, is Johnson, Van Pran, Guillory.
Assuming all 22 stick and we only have 3 more.
