This kids life isn’t going to be ruined. Likely won’t go to jail or have to pay any fine. Doesn’t have to register as a sex offender and can have it expunged.
Yeah, but we're all talking about it. Damage is still done.

Yep, damage is done. Sad.

His dad was an incredible football player at Walker in the 90's but was arrested as well. I believe he had interest from some major schools.

Charges were dropped, and I love the punks in this thread trashing a kid for doing something they did themselves in HS.

He’s going to a Kansas JUCO for a year then transferring to LSU, first hand information so no link. Believe it or don’t, I don’t give a shite

ETA: treyk89 I’m not saying you were trashing him, I was only responding to the latest post in the thread. There were some trashing him way back in the thread

Finally and unusual, the justice system actually working. Glad to hear it!

Awesome, will welcome him back with open arms. Great ending to the shaky start of a harrowing story. Really happy for the kid, hope he does well!

From what I understand of the situation, Goldmond, one month into 18, the female was one month from 16, should have never been arrested, officer should have gone by the calendar, the law states two or three years from the calendar, which the two were not 3 years, but no greater that four years, for misdemeanor carnal knowledge but I am unsure, this is how a friend lawyer explained it to me, the cop was supposed to go off of more that oh she is 15 and he is 18. I am not sure though.. I am not a lawyer.

This is funny, I know for a fact that mom could careless about Bama or LSU, she is not even into football like that, only watches her children games, so whoever they play for, she is going to support.

Tyre Golmond Arrested
I was 21 and my wife was 16 when me married 43 years ago, My father was 21 when he married my 16 year old mother and my wifes' parents were the the same age when they married. Today we would all be arrested. This is all BS.

So you will be cool when your 13 yr old daughter starts banging a 18 yr old and then tells you they want to get married when she turns 16? Ok sure and if that is really your answer.....

And for the record, I am in support of this kid. What I am not in support of is this whole board shooting off about how it doesn't matter how old they are. Well it does. Your Sons and Daughters can be physically capable of having kids at 11 or 12. These same posters defending sex at all ages are the ones who give the "Where were their parents?" when they hear a 15 yr old with a kid.BS

I am also a father with twin daughters in college. I didnt want my daughter dating a senior (18) when she was a sophomore (15) but I also met him and his family. To press charges on him because they were having consensual sex would be the definition of messing his life up.

So you think that 13 is the same as 16? Not close to being the same. Many of my classmates got married right out of high school and a lot of the girls left school early to get married. And Most are still married today. We weren't still considered children at 18. Many young men were expected to move out of home at that age and get a job and support himself. Now people are hooked on playing video games and never grow up. Is that better? We bought our first cars and payed for our own insurance. TOPS did't exist. We worked our way through college.

Unfortunately you are correct. Grand parents rearing grandchildren is also a normal occurrence. Sad!

I'm not sure what relevance this thread has here anymore. It should probably be anchored.

And I truly respect that and feel that the people who have lived their lives in the manner of which you just stated are better parents, citizens, and people in general. The problem is that that is not the norm. That is the exception. And I only say 13 because if someone is getting married at 16 more than likely they started dated at an earlier time, testing the waters of reproducing at an earlier time, and becoming single parents alone in this world without the skills, means, or education to achieve either at an earlier time. Where I respect everything you and your people have done, I have less faith in the rest of LA and if I had a daughter at that age and in that situation could not and would not be as flippant in discussing teenage sex. Because that is what this board is talking about, not cute little kids dating, but teenager fricking and making more ill-equip children into the world.

This is a fact. Plenty of cops do not even know the law any better than the average civilian. Scary but true.
