With the amount of top flight transfers. I think I would like for us to leave one spot maybe every year for 1 transfer..What do you guys think. Because it seems like every other day there's a guy player leaving a program..

Depends on the situation. If we have absolutely no one we really like left to get then I would say leave it open, but if we have someone we like take then now for sure.

I think we sign 25.
If a spot were to open, it would be b/c maybe someone doesn't qualify.
only in that instance, i think we'd look at transfer in the summer once we knew that someone wasn't going to qualify.
otherwise, i'd expect us to sign our full allotment.

I dont think we do this year but in years going forward I believe we will. It is just an adjustment to dealing with the Transfer Portal.

Also I saw an article that the ESD is now THE signing day and I expect most players are going to move to that day. The February holdouts are going to get more and more scarce as teams opt to take the sure thing rather than get left at the altar.

I thought the rule now was that you just lose the scholarship if you sign someone who doesn't qualify, and aren't able to use that scholarship on someone else. It's why teams are more reluctant than ever to sign a player who might not qualify. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about it, though.

Absolutely correct,,, Had that verified to me yesterday by Sonny.
It absolutely counts in your 25 man class but you don't lose in regard to 85.

That sounds good but it doesn’t work like that anymore. If they sign a kid in February and he doesn’t qualify then that scholly is lost. So the staff really have to be pretty certain a recruit will qualify before they let him sign

Correct,,, That is why CamRon, Crawford, and maybe Lorando are not signed right now. It is too risky now to sign a prospect until 100% sure they can qualify.

If I am the coaches I save one spot for a transfer QB. If Brennan is great, then no harm no foul. However, we have a solid team next year and if he falters or get hurts it would be nice to have someone with some experience to save the season.

I suspect the coaches are confident in the QBs on the roster and the ones signed.
