Interesting take of NLU OL by Ohio State today.
Victor Cutler OL Soph 6-3 302 Northeas...errrrr....ULM.
Rated at 76 coming out of HS by On3. Has played way above that. I'd estimate an 86 - give or take one - when his Transfer rating comes out.

Close of Early Portal Update: Highlights/Wants/Needs
There's more to the LSU Brand now than ever before.
Within one year this new Staff has gotten LSU to the point of being serious contenders for ANY player who enters the Transfer Portal at ANY position. With the exposure/success from the CBK hire, the rest of the country has begun to realize that LSU means way more than DBU.
ILB Omar Speights makes for a damn fine finish to the Early Portal Window. I love the LB room now. In a perfect world young Mr Ashanti Cistrunk SR 6-1 230 from Ole Miss would join up and fit right in, too.
But with Speights/Webb/the West baws/ and HP40 you'll never get a tired step.
The OLign is talented and versatile but injuries happen and we have sheer numbers that need to be replenished. An experienced starting Center from a P5 is what many have been clamoring for since the "Ivy League Experiment" so rudely got pushed on it's arse. Tigers have offered:
Jakai Clark C JR 6-3 305 Miami so maybe he's that guy. (For the record - I think that guy is Marlon Martinez)
Even if young Mr Clark ain't all that - we need to replace at least 3 of the big boys that moved on.
Other folks here are more sure of the Safety room than me. I'm of a mind that an experienced Safety can be added even if Toviano moves there and is a natural. If CBK's pattern holds we have already done a deep dive on;
Jaxen Turner S JR 6-2 210 Arizona. "Turner started in 11 games this past season for Arizona and tallied a team-high 79 tackles, along with two interceptions (UA had four as a team), three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries." He's a top 5 Safety in this cycle.
I didn't pay all that much attention to the QB, RB, & WR rooms for this cycle simply because I think the Tigers are talented and deep enough at those positions. As far as I'm concerned, Aaron Anderson was just added to make the roux perfect.
What ya'll got?
Edit: Removed paragraph regarding Nick Jackson committing to Auburn day after Omar Speights signed with LSU.

Jackson then took the bag and headed for the LA Plains
He's still uncommitted isn't he? (Or were you referring to him taking a visit?)
Billy said we're hoping for a visit next week, so I suppose there's still an outside chance.
ETA:
It was Billy not Shea. My apologies.

If still available I want LB Nick Jackson on this team.

I did it wrong. I damn sure can't remember where but I could've sworn I saw him committed to Aubie the day after OS signed here.
Don't see it now. Edited OP.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but hopefully we can convince him otherwise if we can get a visit.

What's with the visit? You know he' already been/going to Auburn and we're trying to get him to come here? (via Shea?)

Yeah Billy (Thought it was Shea my fault) claimed at ON3 yesterday that we're fighting SMU for a visit next weekend
Hopefully we can get him in

Why are players still entering the portal even though it's closed?

They obviously put their names in the portal before it closed. They can still make a decision on where to transfer outside the window and make visits.

SMU has his former Strength and Conditioning coach so there's that connection.
We have Arcement and Weeks, so who knows.

The kids all declared in time but it was pointed out a good bit early on that it can take the school's a day or so to process the paperwork and them to show as entered.
The schools are giving the young men excellent examples of something they will experience way too often for the rest of their lives - how time gets wasted with red tape.

No shite. They had a nice haul of P5 guys. 7 of the 9 who came in and the other 2 were starters for Hugh at Liberty.
Lester prolly dropped some JR Ewing cash on em'.
