I think this had as big of an impact. They had Jeffrey Gunter on the opposite end of the line last year. I know he was only a seventh round pick, but he still had 6.5 sacks last year for Coastal Carolina, so teams probably schemed more for Gunter which allowed Stewart to feast.
Gunter gets drafted, now teams only have to focus on Stewart this year. That would be my only explanation for it and maybe that "position change" threw him off a bit as well

The entire premise of that thread is based on Daniels being guaranteed the starting job and there will be no competition.
Shea essentially debunked that and nothing in BKs history suggests that will be the case. If it’s about getting a chance, he’ll get that. I don’t see him leaving unless he’s running a distant 3rd after spring ball.

I don't get the logic even if this is the case. If he can't beat out Daniels and Nuss for 2023, then he's probably not going to be able to transfer to a playoff contender and expect to be handed the keys next year.
So, then let's look at 2024...Where is he going to transfer that he can probably start as a red shirt sophomore for a team that should be one of the preseason favorites for a playoff spot?

Oluwaseyi Omotosho - 6’2” 246, redshirt freshman? transfer edge rusher from Wyoming.
46 total tackles, 27 solo tackles, 7.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.
Mid season freshman AA.
Already has offers from UH, Va Tech, App State, WVU, Oregon St.
Highlights in link, looks like a late bloomer.

He's really good. I watched one of their games this year, can't remember which one, and he stood out. The color guy was saying the Wyoming coaches thought he was their best defensive lineman since Carl Granderson, and that's a decent reference. I'd take a Granderson for us next year.

Even those schools aren't going to guarantee you a starting spot. The best you'll get is a chance to compete due to no incumbent starter.

Yep bama had at least 10 players, clemaon had at least 9 with 2 of them being qbs and so far TX ATM aggies have had 9teen players enter the transfer portal as of today.
