I think Auburn has been trying to recruit him all along. I imagine Auburn has become more appealing as the season went along with the success they had this year and with Stidham coming back next year

Shea just tweeted:

Ed Orgeron says #LSU may land another WR "here soon."

He can't mention JaMarr Chase by name, of course. Big priority down the stretch.

Wrong... I think we have a completely different WR core next year. Giles, Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall. The kids we have this year will need to fight like hell to keep these guys off the field IMO.

Our offense could look completely different next year with all the transfers that will be eligible, and the talent we have coming in at key spots, specifically OL and TE.

I think the RB spot should be fine but if I'm LSU and this staff, I would be practicing spread football with power inside running. Practice throwing the football and pass protecting bc that is what we are weak in.

The new OL coach needs to call out situations and actually have the defense run different blitzes, and the OL have to adjust to it. We will have some completely different WRs next year so who ever the OC is will have a passing game to work with.

LSU could always run the football but if you add a passing savvy team to that power run, you have a championship team. The WRs and OL need to learn how to play with each other in the passing game as well as the QB. They all need to learn how to be a high powered passing team. From the QB to the OL to the WR to the TEs and backs. If LSU can change that and instill that confidence in them as a passing team, then they would become that. We just didn't have the roster this year for that. We will have it next year. The staff needs to let them work and become something special.

I'm guessing the thread started by Tub on 247 is good news.

Dang. That would be a coup. Seems like we came from a long way back with this kid.

Anyway you look at it, we will have a bunch of young talented WR's on the roster next year.
Just hope we will be able to get the ball to them.

Hope and pray my man.

Props to Orgeron and Joseph nonetheless. This would be a fantastic pull.

And nobody will give Mickey any credit on here....... if Chase does indeed commit to LSU it will be because Mickey Joseph built that relationship and closed the deal when Chase was viewed as a pipe dream the entire cycle.

Give credit where credit is due

No doubt about it. It's impressive. I gave him props a few posts up.

I'm not down on Joseph in the least. I know Orgeron brought in a consultant to work with him and people didn't like that, but to me, that's just giving your people the resources they need to be successful. And I didn't see anything on the field that made me question his coaching. Granted, I don't have access to the all 22, so I couldn't tell what the receivers were doing on every play. But they looked fine to me for the most part.

I see the recruiting in the sec moving to players playing for their in state school here very soon. This will be beneficial for LSU and wil hurt other programs. It seems to be trading that way.

I wish but don't see it. These kids will go anywhere these days. Just like the country, recruiting has become somewhat comical and more unpredictable as each year passes.
