sometimes he tries too hard to impress you with his football knowledge. I love in depth football talk, but breaking down tape over the radio just doesn't work as well it does on tv.

McShay said LSU talent level has gone down of the past 4 years
We have more talent on this team than any team I can remember.
quote:Truth, with regards to the offense.
players are not getting coached up.

The comment was made in February 2010. At that point in time it was correct. Mile and the staff have recruited great talent in the 2009, 10 and 11 classes.

Figured. Its kind of funny looking at the comments and the people blasting McShay for this comment made almost 2 years ago. At the time he was correct, the talent level on LSU's roster in 2009 was not nearly as good as it was in 2005, 06 and 07. The 05 recruiting class was small and the 06 class was not great. Hard to know what impact Katrina/Rita had on that class. The 07 class was good, but they have really done a much better job of getting and developing talent the last couple of years. Hell, no LSU fans knew a 5'9"175 LB DB from St Aug would turn into such an impact player on 2/4/10.

as it's doubtful we have a first rounder Morris Claiborne is #13 on Mel's Big Board...

This thread is very misleading. Didn't realize it was 2 years old til the third page

Not reading every reply but my reply to Mr. McShay would be it isn't LSU's fault they aren't drafting guys like Ridley (one of the best rookie RBs on a team who uses 25 RBs it seems like), Nevis who has been productive with the Colts, Shep who is either starting or getting viable PT with the 4-2 Bills, and PP himself who won a game for the Cards as high (with PP being exception) as maybe they should have. Didn't NE cut their 2nd rounder to keep Ridley? Even Barksdale is still with the Raiders.
But guys, come on, Mr. McShay himself has Claiborne as the #6 prospect available!

as it's doubtful we have a first rounder picked this year.

it's a much better show without Chris Landry. what he was doing or trying to do that early in the morning gave me a headache, allee-walsh is great though

Our WR are very poorly coached. that cannot be disputed.

in 2012, this thread was orginally from 2010
Given the OP's butchering of the English language, its kind of funny that he is calling out McShay
