If someone is going to run in here and eat up all the praise, he needs to be able to accept negative attention when he earns it. When he started a thread saying the staff basically processed Rakim for Burton, he looked like an arse. Then Burton picked Georgia and he looked like a jackass.

It is amazing to me, the number of individuals on this board that are more qualified than our staff. I am sure your resume for lost in the mail and if you were HC we would have already won 2 NCs.

what’s interesting is that a 17 yr olds brain is developed enough drink, smoke or vote. Yet all of a sudden there’s supposed to be a magic formula to how think when it comes to recruiting? Shouldnt blame Vol or the coaches on this stuff. If I was Kirby or the guy in Maryland my pitch would have been all about Delpit. I think everyone would agree that outside of the SEC championship, Delpit was pretty horrible this year. But yet he won all kinds of awards...why? Because of what he did as a freshman and a sophomore. Burton and Rak were going to be special team players at best this year and maybe one of them starts the following year. Which means they have one year to make their case. It’s a pretty simply understanding that we recruited well as the receiver position in the past and will recruit well there next year...so they got cold feet. Again...you can only go to what the coaches were told and if vol got his info from them or one of their staff...it was a shock to them as well. Why? Because your dealing with a 17 yr old. Most of you thought you were going to be cowboys or astronauts at 17. Also...who really cares about the number 1 recruiting class....a bunch of 5 stars, when they don’t fit the scheme or needs doesn’t do us or them any good at all. Saban believed in gobbling up 5 stars and didn’t worry about kickers and now he’s playing in a crap game because he didn’t have a field goal kicker when he needed one against Auburn. I bet right now he would be willing to give up a hand full of those 5 stars for a 75 percent field goal kicker.
