Very impressive stats
I clearly said it was still impressive. Looking at mandeville’s record means nothing cause they don’t play any competition either. Im taking about the grand scheme of things when im talking about talent. The northshore area doesn’t have any teams that ever compete for state championships, and there are very rarely any players that ever go on to play d-1 football. This isn’t me dogging finley. Just calling it as it is

Sorry, when your team loses and you immediately go to twitter excited about your stat line, you have a problem.
Sorry, but anyone who judges another persons feelings and motives when they don't personally know that person, that individual has serious problems. You have no idea how that kid feels about losing. You assume you do, and that is pathetic.

Bad teammate
How do you know he is a BAD teammate? Have you been in the huddle, been in the locker room? There's probably 10,000 or more LSU fans that want to see his stats. And how do you know it was his idea to post his stats? How do you know it isn't the LSU coaches, his HS coaches, his family, his teammates? Judge your own character first, then see if you qualify to judge the character of a 17 year old HS kid.

They were giving up 18.5 ppg before playing Ponch. Ponch put up 40, a season high against Mandeville.
They held 1 team to 3 and shut another out.
They just keep making shite up when it comes to Finley. When he has a bad game, they are here crowing "I told you he is no good". When Johnson and King have bad games, they claim each plays on bad teams or might be injured. When Finley has great games, his competition is inferior. He can't win with some of LSU "fans" regardless of what he does.
Edit: For comparison see comments on Johnson LINK

we are talking about a HIGH SCHOOL player, bro... can the kid not be excited about how he's doing? sure his team may have lost, but it doesn't mean that as a 16, 17, 18 year old he can't be happy about his play....
does he need to self-loathe and kick puppies for you to think he's a "team player"... for frick's sake the dude really still is a kid... i'd love to know how "mature" you think you were at that age, that you could be all stoic if you balled the frick out, as a QB, on Friday night...

quote:you can talk about who Mandeville has on defense and whatnot, but isn't them scoring 41 part of that??? Finley would be competing against that too (and almost won)
didnt say they have a great defense, but they were averaging 18.5 ppg given up before playing Ponch and Finley threw for 470 and Ponch put up 40 on them (most on season). So that counts for something

It was, but the criticism of Finley has been really strange and all over the place as justus2 laid out. I'm hesitant to say it's definitely racially motivated, but I can certainly see how someone might feel it is.
Ive never even seen the kid's tape or even knew he was black. You gotta be a little smarter than posting personal stats in a game you lost. It just gives off the impression you only care about putting up numbers and not winning. We don't need that at LSU. Its also pathetic that some will try and tie any criticism to being racially motivated. fricking pathetic.

I'm not tying "any" criticism as being racially motivated. I'm saying the criticism of this kid has been all over the place and really strange. Since before he even committed, random posters were bashing him saying he wasn't even a division I quarterback.
I don't know what the motivation is, but it would be naive to say there definitely isn't a racial component leading to some of it.
All I know about this kid is he looks fantastic in camps and 7 v 7, and is putting up nice numbers as a senior, but the haters keep making up new criticisms and seemingly moving the bar each week.
Like I said earlier, I don't know if there is any racial motivation at all, but I wouldn't completely rule it out as a possibility and can see where someone like justus2m is coming from.

Bob
I must ask what’s worse, a kid having a great night stat wise in a loss and posting that, or someone under complete anonymity taking to a message board to judge him?
Sad bob
Just sad
