Per Nola as a POSSIBILITY.

LINK

This relates to recruiting as it would explain the surge of DBS we are recruiting. Also, don't both Raymond and Eugene have brothers that are being recruited? How highly will they be recruited? How will this affect their relationship with LSU?

Deshawn Raymond will be arguably the best DB in the state to come out next year.

Not sure about Eugene though.

this sucks, while i know none of these guys were superstars, they had the ability to be coached up. Raymond obviously isnt doing anything, but eugene and sandolph actually participated in us winning games. I know sandolph at least played st and had a fumble recovery. Really was looking forward to him progressing. Then raymond had superstar speed. yeah we are known as dbu, but we might as well be known as, you wont be here for more than 3 years u.

I wonder if this is their decision or if the coaches are pushing them out. Which would be extremely stupid considering last season. We had several dbs leave for various reasons and the starters from last season are going to be riding the pine behind true freshmen. I just think some of these guys should at least stick it out, or are we just seriously missing on db talent rt now? Even a guy like jenkins was a consesus 4* and shutdown corner, we can bring talent in, but if coach raymond doesnt coach these kids up then it doesnt matter.

Can't say I blame them. They come to lsu to compete with the best of the best. I pull for all our players, and wish them the best of luck in the search for meaningful playing time.

This happens at every elite program as fierce competition gives way to rising stars and casualties.

Good luck guys! No hard feelings

Do you think coaches tell players to transfer?

I would think there are discipline or grade reasons they are not going to the game. I don't think hey disallow transfer kids from going to the bowl game.

Where has it been reported that Sandolph and/or Raymond are no longer with the team?

these guys need to watch rudi again.

you can tribute to the team whether you start or play by being on the practice squad.

Timing makes me think some could be academic related. Eugene sounds like playing time and he probably will end up back at ull. At least get your bowl swag on the way out.

Usually players looking to transfer still go to the bowl because of all the free stuff you get. I bet there are grade or discipline issues here. Hope not but that is usually the case.

Micah Eugene has a brother that will be one of the top 10 players in Louisiana next year. His name is Malik, and pllays at Acadiana. I hope that he still considers LSU.

It says they aren't expected to travel. That doesn't mean they are transferring necessarily. Eugene seems gone. The others, as far as we know, may not have made the grades.

Sandolph was someone we never should have offered. That is just the reality of the situation - he didn't have LSU level talent for the secondary and was a total headscratcher when that offer went out.

He committed after Collins chose Bama.

Sandolph and Raymond have barely seen the field if at all and then you look at the potential class we have coming in, I think they are realizing playing time won't come their way.

We could finish with:

Ed Paris (4-Star)
Devin Voorhies (4-Star)
John Battle (4-Star)
Tony Brown (5-Star)
Adoree Jackson (5-Star)
Jamal Adams (5-Star)
Hootie Jones (4-Star)

For those bad at math, that's 3 5* and 4 4* DBs. Obviously the bottom three are still question marks, but we stand a very solid shot at all 3. With that coming in and already not getting much playing time, I would be high tailing it

There is always a slim chance some of those 4*'s becomes a 5* after AA weekend. There is also the chance of the 5* becoming 4* though.

Like what was said in the other thread -- doesn't do anything as far as 2014 goes except freeing up scholarships. It's good in that sense because we definitely don't have to worry about any accounting shenanigans like greyshirting to get people in the program.

It doesn't really affect our targets for this year though. None of those guys were going to be contributors for us and the guys we're targeting would be impact players competing for starting time anywhere in the country. Our targets weren't scared of them as competition.

If Raymond and Eugene have younger brothers we're targeting then let's hope that the part is amicable, for whatever reason it's happening. Other than that hard to say
