The most refreshing aspect about current recruiting...

...is that when LSU has a player that wants to commit, we don't hold them off waiting for the bigger fish. That cost us so dearly in the past. These guys know what they're doing.
Another thing I've noticed is that when a player commits, they don't seem to be taking any more visits..

Yep. This staff has been so remarkably efficient in getting the guys they want.

It’s honestly terrific tbh. They identify who they want and take kids who want to be tigers. Too many times on national/Early signing day Ed and staff were left scrambling to fill positions of need when guys flip or led them on. That’s something I don’t even worry about with Kelly. The golden age of LSU football has just begun!!!

It makes it easier when you have so many open spots to fill.
ETA: I guess that was perceived as negative? I’m just saying that there being no limit on the number you can sign helps what op is talking about

The portal and the fall signing day is forcing the high school guys to make decisions early and stay firm. I also agree that this staff has a laser focus on the guys that they want and knows how to lock them down.

It was 2 years later. He said that before Arkansas 2017.

Bill Polian's son is on this coaching staff.
What's going to become really clear is how sharp the talent evaluation is compared to what we've seen since Saban.
Proper talent evaluation will make for amazingly good recruiting. Wait until you see it on the field.

Another big positive that doesn't get mentioned much, this gives us a big headstart on 2024 (hell maybe even 2025).
2023 class is almost done (I know a lot can change until they sign) but gotta think this affords the staff a lot of time/resources to look even further into the future...

Good point. Seems like LSU was always getting played by recruits and other coaches. They'd get strung along by some prized 5* when they could've had one or two quality players already in the boat. So instead of going with Travis Etienne they held out for Cam Akers. Didn't end up with either of them.

That’s easy to do when there are no limits on signees..

Nawww, we just "settled", for some guy name Clyde Edwards-Helaire. You know, that guy that was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1st Round.
