Impressive that we got all we wanted from the state in a year where we replaced both coordinators and multiple position coaches.

It's wild how BK, for the most part, has kept LA kids home when O had issues doing that. Alignment is real fellas

Everyone here usually complains about not locking down the state and BK did it minus Wardell.

I always wondered about that with Orgeron. Did he get full of himself and start chasin stars in other states?

Orgeron really believed his job was to recruit and hire an OC/DC….
The man loves the game of recruiting and chasing the big fish. What he missed on was creating a sustainable culture once his excitement wore off.
Managing the promises you make on the recruiting trail and balancing the roster take strategy….once Aranda left, he had no balance.

I tell you what, I’ve heard the term “build a fence” for so long, and always thought it’ll never happen. For the first time in my life I feel like it’s up and secure. LFG!

Your "balancing the roster" is a key phrase. If you look back on the LSU recruiting ranking under Coach O, you will find that the ratings were red herrings/skewed by highly rated skill players with only 2 or 3 OL signed every class. I would much rather have a position balanced class and be ranked 14th than have a top heavy recruiting services dart throwing rating weighted by a bunch of players at the same couple of positions.

Ed Orgeron’s Top 10 Louisiana recruits
2017 3
2018 5
2019 8
2020 3
2021 6
Not here to start a debate about him, just pointing this out.

If four is the worst he can do and he still plans to prioritize the state as I think he should lsu has criminally underrated talent I think we are looking at just the beginning…
He is just one recruit better then coach o at this time based on state top 10 in first 3years. He can’t fall off like oh and try and shoot for too many big fish stick to the top 15in the state and sprinkle in excellent recruits from OOS mainly Texas, Florida & Mississippi

don’t forget what CBK came in to though. The 39. took more time to get the ball rolling again.

He also got Gilbert, Thomas and Ausberry to come back home.

And here is the balance problem a couple of us have been talking about:
2017 4 WR...4 OL... 4 secondary
2018 4 WR...4 OL... 1 secondary
2019 2 WR...5 OL... 5 secondary
2020 4 WR...3 OL... 3 secondary
2021 5 WR...2 OL... 4 secondary
In 2 years, you sign a grand total of 5 OL...in 1 year you sign a grand total of 1 CB and S. Yet in 5 years, you sign a whopping 19 WRers. That is exactly how you get a highly rated class and an unbalanced class.
