Why don't we recruit Japanese Sumo wrestlers for the O-line?

Reminds me of the Japanese guy who played tackle in the movie The Replacements. The leverage factor would. E huge.

In all seriousness, i've wondered before why NHL teams don't sign guys like this to play goalie. There are men large enough to plop down in front of the net and allow a 0% chance of giving up a goal

Is there a rule why they can't? Perhaps, they have to be skating?

First, track speed doesn't mean they will become good football players. Especially in college when there isn't much time to work with a guy.

Second, I doubt the culture in the islands are very football oriented. Where do the best football players come from? Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio and California.

Why? Because high school football is huge in these states.

Usain Bolt would be a good prospect to start with. Not many guys 6'5" tall that can run a 9.59 100. Teach him to catch a football. How much do track stars make anyway?

I'd say this is somewhat accurate.

I'd still like to have a good in-depth conversation about how much LSU (and other in-state schools) would benefit by having one of the many Community Colleges in the state start a football program. But every time I start that thread (I've done 2 or 3 times I think), it goes nowhere.

This is something I know already. Track speed doesn't equal football speed. But if you have a guy who is running a 10.4 or 10.5 100m, I can guarantee you that he will still be fast on the football field. Most of ya'll are neglecting the fact that the great athletes are naturally gifted.

i would love to see a sumo wrestler go to an nfl practice and face a d-lineman. they are so strong and have excellent hands. it would be fun to watch as an exhibition.

Victor Cruz - Giants
Aaron Hernandez - Patriots
Jason Pierre-Paul - Giants
Jonathan Vilma - Saints
Patrick Chung - Patriots
Antonio Cromartie - Jets
Ndamukong Suh - Lions
Atari Bigby - Green Bay
Pierre Garcon - Colts
Louis Demas - Giants

These are just a few good NFL players from the Caribbean.

First the culture of the carribean people is not founded in war. They like to have fun.

They stockpile nuclear missiles in Cuba for Cinco de Mayo.

That area provides a ton of the NCAA track stars but you rarely see any football players from that area

heard they can't catch and tend to fumble a lot. also, their blocking skills have been reported to be poor.

He looks solid! 6'5 205lbs, ESPN says he has a 3.8 40time. Shiiiiit, go routes to Mr. Bolt...

Thought this was a cool article on him
