look as much as I hate that it happens every year, you can't deny that most of the kids that Bama gets turn out to be studs so if you are a take at Bama then as an evaluator, that has to mean something.

Yet Alabama keeps consistently winning championships. We need to stop this and finally realize, they get really good guys! We just have to start winning the battle with some of these really good guys!
That's the trick to it.

It's a chicken & egg thing... supposedly. Are Bama's recruits getting better rankings because they are Bama commits or are Bama commits getting better rankings because they deserve them.

After 6 NCs at Bama we have all the evidence we need:
Bama, under Saban, is just that good at evaluating their recruits. The ratings services are riding on their evaluation coattails.

How does Bama benefit? Does this actually make those players better?

How untrue is the "bump" if they continually play for Championships?

I hate Bama as much as anyone but they win.

not to be answering for him, but to answer for him....

They do benefit. We're Americans. We root for the underdog BUT we follow the winner.

It's that thing called momentum. If you could, you can't- but if you could, take away the product on the field and show those top-3 classes year after year there will be some recruits, every year, that gravitate towards that and that alone. And that is the "momentum".

The answer for coaches, not fans, is to find out what they are doing in their evaluations and emulate/copy them. I'd say Clemson too. Those two above everybody else are doing something BETTER with their evaluations that the rest of aren't.

It it doesn't apply blanket wise. It isn't true in every single case. They don't literally get everybody they want nor do they "hit" on every recruit. But the average is a better average than the rest.

That's not luck. It's not happenstance.

Most of the LSU recruits got a bump in the ratings but not rankings. Ex. Dellinger moved back a few spots to the high 90’s but went from a 94 to 95. Seems like a way to spin things positively without actually doing anything of substance. That’s probably their way of avoiding answering questions why guys fell a handful of spots and them explaining that he was just “passed up”

It's high comedy how many are emotionally locked in to arbitrary rankings concocted by recruiting "services".

Hat's off to those that created this cottage industry--they know their customer!

Honestly is you go by recruiting rankings, Bama should never lose a game. In the last 10 years every game Saban lost was to a team with less talent. Which is why he failed in the NFL. Recruiting makes him a great coach.

Bama and osu should win every title, and uga once in awhile with the recruiting they do. That top 10 is mostly 2 schools. Yet osu only has 2 titles in what, 50 years? Uga one in 40...
Evidently lsu must coach up their players

The Bama national championship just happened too. I don’t see how you guys complain about Bama talent being overrated when they are winning ONE HALF the national championships!

This is 100% correct. It's part of his job (recruiting) and he does it better than anyone.

If he had roster of 2 & 3 stars he'd be just another good Coach. That's not exclusive to just Saban though.

All these recruiting services are based on fan support. Alabama fans are fanatics about recruiting and purchase all the sites. It all boils down to the almighty dollar! If your fan base makes them money, then your recruits are going to get favorable rankings.

Anybody who thinks that the 247 staff is actually biased against LSU is an absolute smoothbrain moron.

They aren’t biased against us, but all of the services have a HEAVY bias toward Bama. I heard Barton Simmons fricking admit positive Bama bias on a 247 podcast last year. They assume any guy Saban is recruiting who they aren’t sure about should be rated higher.

I understand how much of a machine Bama recruiting is, and that this often proves right. However, in their blindness staring at the sun, these analysts also end up consistently over-rating guys down their class who quietly transfer out a couple of years after not sniffing the field as a high 4 star. When those guys down go on to not make a major impact elsewhere, it shows that they were ranked higher than they should have been just because Bama took them.
