Tackett Curtis update

Isn’t starting at Wisconsin.
Only recorded 2 tackles against his former team USC this past weekend.
Sure, he might be good later down the road.
But right now Whit Weeks is superior in every way.

Committed a facemask penalty on the opening kickoff too.

Funny thing is, he goes all the way out the west coast, then leaves and goes up to Wisconsin where he will freeze his arse off here in a few weeks. I'm sure he will be transferring from Wisconsin after this year as well. Don't feel sorry for him at all!

This is an LSU recruiting board. The kid decided long ago he did not want to play for our Tigers. The Many crew has every right to wish him success. I wish him success as long as he isn't playing my Tigers.
I'm sure he had an opportunity to work his way back home. I doubt we would have told him to kick rocks. I'm sure he would have had to work his way into the lineup and maybe didn't get an attractive transfer offer. Made his choice, again wish him success. No reason to alienate players that do not chose the program for whatever reason, they may find their way home one day.
Good luck Louisiana boy, there are many Louisiana kids that either didn't get offered or chose to leave the state. When they make it to the NFL and show out, it makes us look great.

You are correct, but when they trolled the board for the better part of a year, it left a ton of resentment towards Tackett and his supporters.

Understood O. I remember the resentment, at a certain point seems like we should let it go and wish all players born in our State good luck.
I still consider any kid that was born and raised here an LSU kid, I realize that they won't all come here, or for that matter transfer back. If for some reason he transfers back everyone would let by Gone's be by Gone's. I'm sure he won't. If he was from somewhere else no one would care. We take it personally which is a good thing and shows our love for our State.

I guess I just read some of the response as people shitting on the kid. I agree he wasn't as good as he was heralded. He is still a good piece to have on a team, and while he wouldn't start here, especially with Perk out he would have been a serviceable backup.

The fact that Jess Curtis thought offering him before his junior season was too late and LSU didn’t recruit the entire school hard enough is still hilarious.

I knew Tackett when he was at North DeSoto. His family moved to Many. He was one helluva football player at ND. I knew he would thrive at Many. I have no idea what has happened to him but I hope he figures it out. He's a damn good kid.

Also, he was offered by LSU before both Wisconsin and Ohio State, his other two finalists.
Normally when a kid doesn't want to come to LSU, and they make it evident from day 1, nobody cares. No one shits on Sedrick Van Preen who went to UGA. No one shite on Holstein because we had Howard in the class already. People don't like Manning because he's a Manning and was overrated in high school.
People get mad when a kids family lies about a recruiting process to make LSU look bad and then turn around and go out of state. That's what the problem was here with Curtis.

His problem is he doesn't have great lateral movement and he drops his head every tackle. That works in 2A football, but not at USC.

It’s pretty crappy because the kid himself has never done anything to put himself in a bad position with the school or fan base. The people around him, both closely related or just random people in the community, made his recruitment one of the most annoying things on LSU boards that I can remember.
