He wasn’t even remotely close to Jordan Jefferson

That wasn't my point... I wasn't comparing him to Jefferson as a player. I was speaking on his lack of playing time Suggs & Jefferson got while they were here.

He came from Grand Valley State and didn’t really get enough playing time here to have any kind of pro prospects. He seemed to get better through the year at handling his run fits, especially against double teams. He was really, really good against Oklahoma in his few snaps. I was looking forward to seeing if spending a year in a D1 weight program could take him to the next level.

I have no idea and many of this board have said the same thing questioning why Suggs didn't have more snaps. I'm not saying starting the guy but he should have been on the field a lot more.

Agreed, he seemed to make the most plays from the interior when he was in the game.

I doubt it was about a check. He signed with Wisconsin. It was about playing time. He had offers from Michigan, tenn, and other top schools.

Suggs was coming on. He was worth keeping. Guy could get up field and also take on double-teams. I saw him take on a double-team and hold his own on several plays. The guy was strong and played with good leverage. Was hoping we were negotiating with him to stay.

Add Pimpton, Daniels, and Womack to the list that we wanted to stay. But not that bad considering the landscape.

Suggs was small & could only play on obvious pass downs. A luxury for LSU but not the every down opportunity he was probably looking for.

He made plays when he got the opportunity.

Small, but played strong with good leverage. We surely would have used him more next year.

With the idea McKinley & Breaux get increased snaps, I’m not sure how Suggs would have received much more playing time.

Kimo was probably told to look elsewhere

WR in general is probably one of the easiest positions in college football to fill. So Daniels wasn't as big of a deal as Suggs. La Tech is becoming a farm system for WR to bigger programs. Tre Harris to Ole Miss last season and Tru Edwards to some program this next season. Yeah, if I had to rank the "losses", Suggs would be #1, Pimpton #2...then who knows. Womack has to prove to me he is more than a one dimensional player...basically just rushing the passer. And apparently, LSU replaced Daniels with 2 receivers better than he is...especially since he seemed to be injury prone.

Utterly ridiculous nonsense and hideous talent evaluation. Oh, and BTW, you don't go into the draft with eligibility remaining only playing limited number of snaps per game as you pointed out yourself. I know Bo Davis is thought of as above God as far as DT coaches go, but unless there was some behind the scenes reason not disclosed, both Shanks and Suggs should have played more snaps. The LSU DL was a pleasant surprise but could have been better with more push up the middle from the DTs.

__________

Suggs looked good in limited playing time. He was on a trajectory to get more pt. Wish he would have stayed here.
