I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to run a prolific offense like Crowton's.

To me it seems like we just settle on QBs every year now and take these guys who apparently can't play. I don't get it.

I can assure you we didn't just "settle on" QBs like Jefferson, Jarrett Lee, Zach Lee, and Perrilloux. Those were all great pickups by the coaching staff. But RP and ZL are gone and JJ and JL haven't had good QB coaching since they got here.

IMO, a class like this deserves a big name, headlining QB...something like a bridgewater, walsh, etc.

yeah i'm being unreasonable.

hell yes make it happen. i would love for miles to deal with the forcier family.

I actually think this is one of Miles's strong suits, and even though they are habitual complainers, he could deal with the Forciers better than most coaches.

Seems like a really gifted guy with stage parents watching his every step, unfortunately.

Jefferson, Jarrett Lee

Jefferson and Lee were both 4 stars but neither were really highly sought after. Just like Garrett.

Not a fan of this dude either. I feel like hes mainly hyped because:

1. He has good physical attributes like height

2. Some say he was just like his brother at this stage, which I think tends to overrate him

The thing is people need to stop comparing him to his brother. Hes not his brother, period. He may never be his brother. I swear, I've seen so many superstar's little bros "further along at this point in their careers" to know most don't ever pan out. They stay in their shadow.

Stephen is a huge project and he almost surely isn't the answer for 2012. If I had my way, I'd sit him on the bench because LSU risks damaging him mentally for 2012. He may turn out to be a great QB...when he develops. LSU needs a transfer or JUCO no matter what next year or this year...

Brissett would be nice but I doubt he'd be ready for 2012 too. Some people actually think hes very underrated as hes taken his recruiting slow...

Only way to go is get someone developed for 2012...JUCO doesn't seem to have a lot of good QBs, so someone like Mettenberger might be needed.

Anyways, so far its not looking good and I'd honestly rather not think about it right now personally...

Mettenberger, then when his eligibility runs out hopefully either Cardale or Rivers will have separated himself

I'm honestly not a fan of Cardale either.

We really need a big time QB, not huge projects. I'm fine with someone like Cardale/Rivers if we actually had a big time guy ahead of them. But we don't, so being choosy isn't really a option...

Brissett would be nice and I think he has a decent shot at being something big. But we really need a guy who can step in now and you'll probably only get that from a JUCO/transfer. I'm not even sure the most elite QB in HS Football can step in and immediately start at LSU, even with our numbers...

Its not easy to do in the SEC. Certainly possible and has happened but they almost never play good...

I'd settle for a Freshman coming into 2012 and just playing average. I think that would be more than anyone can expect.

Didn't Mettenberger already transfer? Same with Tate Forcier? Didn't he transfer to Stanford?

I thought I read somewhere Tate actually transferred to Stanford...guess not.

One thing that blows my mind is LSU has struggled so heavy at QB, yet does not have a dedicated QB coach. I'm not talking about Crowton being OC and then attempting to coach QBs either...especially sitting in the booth the entire game.

Was a TE coach really necessary over a QB coach? Does Miles coach any specialty at all? Most HCs can take over a position and coach it...due to lack of assistants. You'd think TE isn't a huge priority, especially since Miles had NFL experience there...

Actually .. Rivers looked pretty good. He just wasn't put in many passing situations. I'll get eyes on him next week, as his HS is only 3 miles from my house.
