I didn't mean we had a high hit rate in regards to head-to-head recruiting battles for La kids. I'm pretty sure the answer to your question is zero. I meant that the guys we have gotten, whether LSU didn't like them or didn't push for them because of numbers, have been very good for us. Patrick Lewis C, Jonathan Stewart LB, Deshazor Everett DB, Floyd Raven DB, Julien Obioha DE for example, and the guys from last year's recruiting class, Washington, Claiborne and Ellis, have all done very well as freshman. That's why I always like to take a few La kids in each class.

Most of these guys didn't even have LSU offers. UT has had way more success in recent years then taking LA kids then good ole A&M

I speak weekly with Times Picayune recruiting writers who are very close to LF and Speedy. They say LF is 95% LSU and is just enjoying the process, And Speedy is leaning heavy to A&M
Speedy is definitely a package deal tho

When it comes right down to the nitty-gritty there are no "package deals".

We need to make GWlll a priority. We need a pass rush and he can definitely provide it. Package deals? I'm not quite sold on that, but getting Willis is my concern. If Noil decides to go with Willis, cool. GWlll is becoming the biggest "must get" besides LF. IMO

I don't know if this is true or not, but I won't be surprised if he goes elsewhere. The kid literally never speaks of LSU or seems to have anything positive to say about LSU.

I think a lot of folks are taking his commitment as a given and I can't see any reason why that's the case. Usually the most logical answer is the right one, he may not be interested in LSU.

Most crystal ball predictions have him coming to LSU, including many A&M experts

It's because he shows no interest in LSU . My guess is he isn't coming here

Or maybe he's trying to set up buzz for his announcement.

Let Noil have fun. He and GW will be Tigers

Actually none of them had LSU offers.

You would've known that had you actually read the post.

mmonro, my whole point was that we have had great success with LA guys even though they didn't have LSU offers. Also, not that it really matters, but how has UT "had way more success" in LA than A&M in recent years? They have signed about one guy from LA in the past 5 years.
