Just wanted to see what everyone thought about these guys. While I doubt any of them will get serious interest from LSU, could any of them be sleepers like Claiborne last year? Maybe pick up some offers from mid-majors or schools like Mississippi State?

Shedrick Davis-WR/Central
Urell Johnson-CB/O.P. Walker
Pat Swilling-LB/Brother Martin

Brandon Jackson-DL/Evangel

Orlin Fontenot-LB/Parkview Baptist
Drew Dileo-ATH/Parkview Baptist
Walker Ashburn-DE/John Curtis

Dileo is already committed to Michigan and I think Ashburn has and offer from Nebraska so that's good for those guys because like you said, they probably won't get serious interest from LSU.
I'm surprised Milton isn't reporting any offers yet, but it may be because of academics. I think Hill from Slidell and Centaurius Donald from Caldwell Parish will end up with pretty good offers.

I wonder how many players from LA play D-1 football each year. Even though there are usually some guys in the top 40 lists who don't make it for various reasons, there are some guys ranked below them who do make it.
So maybe 55 or 60, with LSU getting about 10?

I don't remember what it was last year, but 2 years ago there were 25 guys from La that signed with BCS schools not including LSU. That doesn't even count the guys that went to Tulsa, TCU, UCF, and the like out of state. I would guess it's normally about 60 or so depending on where the in-state schools focus their recruiting. It could get as high as 75 in a really deep year. Now, that's just the number that sign, the number that qualify is considerably lower.

Also wacth out for CJ Johnson from Red River I heard he has offers from Nebraska Mich, and arkansas to play both football and basketball& lately Lsu has started showing interest in both

Ryan Zeller of St. Michael's is another who fits that group very well. Big OLineman with a lot of upside.

Thanks for the update on Butler. It looks like Bobby Johnson has taken some nice players out of LA this year. I remember reading about DiLeo to Michigan. I am a little surprised that he got such a prestigious offer so early, but hopefully he will able to get some playing time there. They definitely have a need for some playmakers.
That's actually a little more than I expected. I figure that about 10 guys sign with Mississippi, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and A&M every year, but that means that there are still about 15 guys every year who sign with BCS schools that aren't right by. That's pretty impressive.

Derrick Milton should head up I-49 and come play for big Bradley Dale

There is always a couple of random guys that sign with Pac-10 schools and way more than 10 sign with Miss, Miss St, Ark and A&M.

there was a wide receiver from Texas last year that signed with San Jacinto JC I think, his name was Philander Moore. That's an awesome name.

No, I don't think so

Dillon Day is very underated. He goes up against Jordan Allen everyday at practice and you can ask anyone who watches that Dillon wins almost every time. He is very explosive and fast for his size. He has a big frame so adding weight would not be an issue. I heard he did very well at the LSU camp.

eric thomas hasn't even been ranked by rivals yet. I guarantee you that after watching him play that someone is going to be very happy with his steal of a pick up.

Dileo, gave a verbal to Mich. Also, Rice got in late on him. Mich also got another verbal from an Ath.
The Davis kid is a good player, Sid does well with his kids.
THe Fontenot kid, some schools like the other LB on the team a little better. Both are good players.

Davis has grade issues. will be a great pickup for someone. Good kid
Meyers looked great at LSU camp. Crowton loves him but they don't have a spot for him. Could end up at Tech, will make someone happy
Fontenot kid from PBS has been kinad banged up but is very impressive.
All the guys on that list if they have a good senior year will end up somewhere good. LA might be "down" bc there are no 5 stars but there is a ton of good talent
