Hey dummy, no one said, or implied, that anyone’s speech should be limited. The poster, to whom you responded, criticized the contents of “Austin residents’” ideas. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s simply his opinion.

The irony is that you criticised HIS opinion. Does that mean you’re against his freedom of speech? Of course not.

They're saying different based on something they heard today?

No, there’s just been a consistent trend amongst them the past couple weeks. Bama still hasn’t offered Rodney a ride, and they won’t be doing so.

Regardless, I feel O closed strong on the DL. If Soosher goes Bama, I think our chances for Young and Moore go WAY up

If he is "poor" he will qualify for pell grants and student loans pretty easily. You would think those leftist in Austin would know all about government hand outs.

THINK that if you accept any form of scholarship (i.e Tops, school based grants, etc...) you count against the 85 man scholarship limit. Prevents schools from having a bunch of walk-ons getting free tuition on "chemistry honors scholarship" and BS like that.

also if a walk-on plays even one play in one game they count against the 85 man scholly limit? Is that true. I had read or heard that somewhere a couple years ago.

No. Whether plays or not counts against the 100 man roster + 5 scout (scout team can only practice, not eligible for games).

ONLY those receiving financial aid count against the 85.

Student Loans
As i have 3 kids

The less the monies that the family makes
The MORE ASSISTANCE that is available via Student loans and Grants

No Walton’s are walk ons. They do not count against the 85 unless they have a scholarship.

Seems like we have a senior walk on a scholarship last year ormthis year. That would come off the 85 limit

If youre not on scholarship pretty sure there's nothing illegal about it.

I had a friend pay one of my classmates way through med school because of his financial. Was that "illegal" too?

We gave 4 unused scholarships to walk-ons this past fall. 3 were seniors and are coming off the 85. The seniors were Trey Gallman, Turner Simmers and Tiger Scheyd. The non-senior was Zach Von Rosenberg.

With White now declaring for the NFL, we're currently at 88.

Nothing illegal about someone paying for your education as long as it is not paid by university or coaches if student does not have a scholarship.

I think that's basically true if they would have paid his tuition at any school he choose to attend.

So why doesn’t T Boone Pickens or Phil Knight pay for tuition for a ton of players so they can have more scholarship slots?

They are both established boosters, ya big dummy
