They are both established boosters, ya big dummy

A booster is a booster and it doesn't take much to be a booster. Take for example Kim Dunbar and Notre Dame. Kim was in her mid twenties and a bookkeeper for a local business in South Bend. She was also an embezzler, stealing over a million bucks. Also liked her lovers young and athletic, so she went out with members of the football team. Spent all kinds of money on food, clothing and travel. Coaches thought girlfriend can spend money on their boyfriends, so no problem.

Kim never attended ND. But they had this weekly luncheon thing with the coaches during the season that anyone could attend for a nominal fee (something like $20 +/ 5). She attended ONCE. This made her a booster and ND got hit with their first (don't know if they've had others) major violation. The penalty wasn't very bad, but the embarrassment was. Personally, I think this is why Holtz left.

For this stuff not to be a violation, you have to have a strong prior relationship with the athlete. Like immediate family, guardian, or someone who is known to have done things for the family prior to the 8th grade and maybe younger. People who attended LSU, taf members, season ticket holders and even others are considered boosters. While it isn't really that hard to cheat and not get caught, you have to be more clever than is suggested here.

How good is he? I’m not familiar with him.

Everyone named Mike Williams or Michael Bennett is good at football and will play in the NFL.

I'm saying any form of scholarship (academic or athletic) counts against your 85 man scholarship limit.

My first two years of college (pre-LSU) I was on academic scholarship at an NAIA school but it was really a basketball scholarship, the school just had to go the academic route because the officially didn't give out athletic scholarships.

Granted, NAIA isn't governed by the NCAA so I'm not doubting you at all.
