That was bs . So coaches knew he didn’t want to play with other kid for months but stay committed until signing day. Think about it, Maryland.

Yeah. That's what I remember reading. What did Jarrett say that confirmed this was true? I just remember him talking about how he trusted the Maryland coaches more.

Rak claimed our coaches were lying to him for months but never said how.
If we turned Rak away, I feel like it was because we knew he wasn't coming here in the first place and wanted to reassure that we were keeping Burton.

His big three "silents" were Webb, Dumerville and Evans. He backed off the Evans part in the last couple of weeks, but he remained adamant about Webb and Dumerville

Ok here's my tin foil hat possibility:
Burton has already been bought by Kirby. UGA tells him to make this ultimatum with O thus either forcing our hand or getting us to lose both.
Only 2 coaches could pull this off. One is Saban and the other is Kirby who learned from the master. Sounds insane, but recruiting is a dirty business and part of it is not only to get the guy you want, but to screw your competitor in the process.
