Why limit yourself to a certain number. If you can upgrade through the portal, you do it.
If not, you're going to get left behind.
You still must maintain a good mix of incoming freshman to go along with the portal additions. 8&4 and Ole Miss are examples of focusing moreso on the Portal which doesn't equate to immediate success.

For reference, LSU took 9 last year
Aggie took 28
Ole Miss 26
Colorado took the most with 43
Every SEC team took 10+ except LSU and Tenn

12 was the original number candied about by Kelly and we had a few enter the portal that I'm assuming he wasn't aware of.

yes 85 is a thing, sec rule for next year is 85 max. will look at reevaluating after to maybe go to 105 as allowed by ncaa
i think you are prolly closer to 12-13 now and then 2-3 more in spring. for around 15 total as i said before.

I would think in the 15-17 range if the quality is there. you would be a little over in the spring but you can always expect a few people to exit after the spring concludes.
